"Lovely hotel"
We went as a family to Seville and the hotel staff were really helpful and good with the children.
Its a beautiful hotel with a lovely courtyard where you can have a drink. The rooms wer lovely and we even had a terrace - but cold! We were there in March and the stone floors were very cold especially at night.
The most significant problem is that it said it had a restaurant - it didn't - it had a chap who could use a microwave so evenings were difficult as the Spainish eat so late

"Like an oasis in a hot city"
Spent four nights at the San Gil at the beginning of August. Arrived early (11am) but room was made available immediately. Stayed in a triple room with an extra bed but still spacious enough for the four of us (2 adults, 2 girls, 13 and 10). The room overlooked the courtyard and we had no problems with noise at all. Seville in August was very hot (40oC). The AC in the room was very efficient. The rooftop pool was a great place to cool off (one of the reasons we chose the San Gil) after a day sightseeing. The buffet breakfast was superb. The San Gil is an old palace with a modern building attached but the two complement oneanother. The inner courtyard is like an oasis with a small fountain in the middle. It was a wonderful place to sit and relax. Tables are laid for evening meals and a guitarist played each evening which provided a lovely end to each day. It was such a nice way to unwind and chill out that we ate there three nights out of the four. We caught a taxi to and from the city centre most times (4 euros incl. tip). The hotel is walking distance to Isla Magica theme park (useful if you have children).
Despite the major works being done in Seville (metro), it is still a lovely city to visit. The Alcazar did evening visits (8pm-10pm) when we were there, it was a lot cooler and quieter walking around then.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at the San Gil again.
