Best Budget Hotel in Dubai near the real buzzing area
I stayed here in April 2007, what a fantastic hotel, the service was excellent and staff great always happy to help you. The hotel was nearly full with mainly Russians and european and some middle eastern guests. I stayed a week and my room was very comfortable it had air con, ensuite bath clean and tidy its the best 3* in dubai I think.. I disagree with the previous review the manager was very nice and polite we had good chats. I was given recommendations on where to eat and what to do. There is even a free Shuttle bus daily to Jumeira beach which is through a beautiful park and they bring you back all courtsey of the Hotel . Do tip the staff they get peanuts and every little you give them they are pleased. I made good friends here one of the porters even bought me a Bangladeshi meal one day from a Bengali restaurant nearby. All the staff are educated and many of them are from India, bangladeshi syria, iran. There is so much nearby you can walk all night everything is open and its buzzing. Its very safe area here police patrol regularly and shops open all hours.
Its also not far from the Hyatt Regency hotel for stroll and the sea, you can go into the hotel and use their 5* gym swimming pool which is very cheap if you dont like the pool at san marco.
I had breakfast everyday at the hotels restaurant it was great so much variety the russians loved it here. So dont hesitate to stay here. Mr CHOWDHURY london

i went in MAY 2006 and stayed for 9 nights and this hotel had all the facilities that a tourist would want inside and outside in the surrounding areas.as you arrive you enter a large lobby and reception. the hotel staff were very friendly and co-opretaive and the service was polite with a smile.
the aminities of the hotel were standard but good.ensuite with fresh clean towels and the bathroom is cleaned eachday, and the room is cleaned and fresh towels are laid, the bed is made and the sheets are changed.
it has a decent size GYM,SAUNA,POOL ROOM,POOL ON THE ROOF,GOOD RESTAURENT with a variety of good east/west buffet for breakfast and meals.
when you go out on the street from the hotel entrance, you go left, to the end of the road and turn left again, down the road you will find a KFC, PIZZA HUT an OTHER EATERYS and CAFES, this is the main road AL KHALEEJ RD. if you go right from the hotel and right again you will find mobile phone shops and electrical stores and there is a internet cafe there, along that stretch. the GOLD SOUK and CREEK is in walking distance, so to is NAIF road where all the MARKETS, SHOPS, loads of ELECTRICAL GOODS STORES. and GIFT SHOPS and there is even a WIMPY there american style. on the same road you will find many a indian restaurants!!! but none as GOOD as the DELHI DURBAR, EXCELLANT FOOD AND SERVICE..THE BEST FOOD I HAD ON ME HOLIDAY.
opposite the hotel entrance there is a local shop where you can buy most items like your local street shops in england.good friendly service, even phone cards.
i have been a few times to dubai and stayed in different locations but it never had all the near by eating places, which are very important, especially when you are hungry late night and want to eat a KFC or PIZZA. because when you are tired you dnt wana travel again for food.ITS ALL TOO TIRING.
REMMEMBA MOST HOTELS HAVE NO FASTFOOD PLACES WITHIN A FEW MINUTES FROM THE HOTEL ACCEPT (SAN MARCO).
NOTE: people have different experiences with hotels and staff !! but i found no fault in the overall hotel service or there staff. i had a very pleasent stay and enjoyed my holiday even thuogh it is only a 2star hotel.
WELL RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR A BUDGET STAY!!! AND GOOD SERVICE!!!!!

this hotel is brilliant in terms of comfort,style,and amenities!and fir the price you pay you certainly get value for money! my room was very clean and well equipped and the food in the hotel was good.The service is what you would expect for this star hotel and the location is superb! my only unfortunate complaint is that the hotel managers at the reception desk were not helpful and took a long time to get any meaningful conversation out of them!they were not particularly friendly and didnt even wish me a good stay or even wish me a nice flight home.They didnt even ask if i enjoyed my stay!!!!...maybe they should go back to customer relations school to learn the art of cusstomer service! having said that i would stay at the hotel again and i would recommend my friends to stay there also!!! by the time i return the managers would probably have been sacked or left!!!!!!!!!! GREAT HOTEL

San Marco Hotel
I have recently stayed at this really nice hotel and i found the hotel brilliant in all aspects the rooms were very clean and offered all the facilities one would expect, the restaurant and the variation of food excellent...lots of russian food!..but would like to see more arabic food as dubai is an arabic country! the location is very good being in the centre of the city close to all the usual tourists sites. security is excellent and the layout of the hotel is of a high standard.I have only one complaint the managemnet staff on reception are extremely miserable and sometimes appear not to care about your comfort!..whist i was staying their THE MANAGERS never asked me anything about my stay AND when i left they didnt even offer me any form of greeting or say goodbye or even ask if i enjoyde my stay!!! found this very very unprofessional! but despite this i will return in the new year because the hotel is brilliant perhaps the owner should get his managers to undertake a course on customer relations......I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYPERSON.....its brilliant dsepite the front desk managers'

I recently stayed for 1o nights at the 2 star San Marco Hotel and found the Hotel absoluetly brilliant. My room was exceptionally clean,with all the facilities you would require for a very modern 2 star hotel. The restaurant is well organised and offered excellent international cuisine,with a touch of Russian influence. The place is very clean and all the facilities are very good!The location of the San Marco hotel is in prime position for all links to all parts of dubai and the local restaurants are brilliant and offer wonderful food from 'all quarters of the globe'. My only crticism has to be direceted at the reception staff!! they were so miserable and didnt seem to know how to treat guests! especially as I had just arrived from London after a 7hr flight. But after searching for a 'smile' from them they opened up and gradually improved during my stay,but only after imputs from me, As i left i didnt receive any goodbyes or even wishing me a safe and nice flight back to the UK or even ask me whether i enjoyed my stay!The owner of this beautiful hotel was away in Iran but on my next visit to the San Marco i will talk with him....on the whole this hotel is brilliant an di would personally recommend it to any person and i would be definitely be staying at the San Marco again in January 2008.......

We stayed at the san marco for 4 nights in feb 2006 & received a warm welcome, great service, lovely breakfast & comfortable bed. Swimming pool was nice if a little on the small side, but the staff were extremely helpful & accommodating. Great value for money & would definitely go back again.

We stayed at the San Marco hotel in Dubai for 6 nights during Feb-March 2007.
We received a warm and friendly welcome, the staff is very polite and nice, eager to help out in any situation.
The rooms were ok, clean and nice for a 2 star hotel. The location was great, near souks, mosques and the hotel also offer free shuttlebus service to beach and shopping. Good value for money and I would go back any time.
