The Shaw Park Botanical Gardens lie 1km away from the hotel while the Coyaba Botanical Gardens lies roughly 3km away. The Prospect Plantation and Fern Gully lie roughly 4km away from the hotel.

Facilities on offer include a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, a safe, and a currency exchange facility, in addition to a small supermarket, a hairdresser, a café and a pub. It is also possible to make use of the conference facilities. *The Sandcastles Resort has five terracotta-roofed buildings, housing a total of 174 studios and suites. The studios sleep a maximum of two, and come with a large bedroom with a double bed or twin beds, a dining area, a kitchenette, an en suite bathroom, and either a balcony or terrace.

*The suites with one bedroom can house a maximum of three adults or two adults and two children. They come with a separate bedroom with a double bed or twin beds, an adjacent living/ dining room, a kitchen, an en suite bathroom, and either a balcony or terrace.

*The suites with two bedrooms offer sleeping accommodation for a maximum of five adults or three adults and three children, and are fitted similarly to the suites with one bedroom, but additionally offer a second bedroom and bathroom. A direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, and air conditioning are provided in all accommodation units as standard.
