Sandman Longueuille is the BEST!
We stayed at Sandman Longueuille. It's just across the river from Montreal. You step out the door, take a left and there is the station for the metro, trains, buses. It's very convenient. The hotel met my absolute requirements: Clean, quite, comfortable, a good value. We even enjoyed our meal at the restaurant! I don't often expect much from hotel food, but this was excellent. We were tired when we arrived and were happy to be greeted by such a friendly staff at the hotel and the restaurant.

Rating:
Nice Hotel. Spent 3 nights with a family of four. Very friendly staff. Great value. Nice pool. Room was OK.
ROOM: Room was large enough. A little bit on the stuffy side. Could definitely tell that the hotel was older. Fairly clean.
STAFF: Very friendly and helpful. Would not consider them extremely helpful but helpful enough to answer your questions quickly and then be on your way. Cleaning people did come up to explain to us how to use the air conditioner even though we never asked.
VIEW: Nice view of Olympic stadium.
ACCESS: Very quick access to the Jacques Cartier bridge and right next to the metro and bus station. No handicap access though. The roads are slightly confusing to get back into Downtown Montreal but after the first day, no problems.
VALUE: Definitely one of the better hotels for the price. We paid about $99CAD per night. Any other reasonable hotel in downtown Montreal was coming out closer to $200 CAD.
