"Santa Marina- Much nicer than these postings represent...it's Greece!" We just returned from a week at the Santa Marina. The assistance provided by the hotel prior to the trip was well above average. Katerina manages Guest Relations & offered a great deal of service in provisioning the shuttle for our transfers from the airport and throughout our stay. She also managed all restaurant reservations prior to and during our stay. The hotel is immaculate and beautiful. The private beach is lovely and provides an opportunity to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city & local beaches. The entire resort is well landscaped, beautiful & the rooms are quite large for European hotel rooms. True, the twin beds pushed together is "strange" & their mattresses are not like the Westin heavenly bed program, but this represents the Island's way of being & should not be measured by US luxury standards. We also stayed at Vedema & the Grand Bretagne and found all the mattresses to be on the firmer side. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the meals (all the meal prices on the Island seemed high), loved the beaches & pools & met interesting & wonderful people while staying at the resort. Please trust that Starwood is a highly regarded hotel chain & that their classification of the resort is indeed worth the five star rating. It is also one of the only hotels that had blow dryers & outlets that worked with & met US standards. It is disappointing that other travelers had such poor experiences but keep in mind that every hotel can have their ups & downs, & that during the high season, it is often difficult to service a fully sold out client base.

"Year after year, it never fails to please" This is the 7th year in a row that we stayed in the santa marina. The hotel is simply the best in Mykonos. Great beach, beautiful views, nice staff and relaxing atmosphere. I read some of the negative reviews and I found them difficult to accept based on my experience. I have never experienced the problems noted in those reviews.

"Grate traditional Easter at hotel's chappel" We had a grate time during the Greek Easter. The mass at the chappel , the feast at the restaurants , the views the grate service made our stay a unique experience. We will be back!

"Santa Marina is Great" We recently stayed at Santa Marina. I'm glad we did. It was perfect. One of the nicest hotels that I've ever stayed at with spectacular views. The staff were on trying extremely hard. (attached is pic of view from our balcony).
