"A good choice for all"
My wife and I have just returned from spending a week at the Hotel Savoy on a half board basis. Part of the deal included the provision of a hire car, the only charge for this was the insurance and petrol. The hotel was very clean and tidy, with a welcoming reception area. The rooms were basic but adequate and were serviced daily, plenty of hot water was always available, so showers were enjoyable. Carpeting was laid on all stairs and corridors, which reduced the amount of noisey footsteps passing, if you went to bed early. Allthough door banging was a problem on a few nights, not the hotels fault though, just a couple of inconsiderate guests. Food at the Hotel was of good quality, well prepared and presented, with a varied choice menu. Breakfasts were exellent. Staff members were from all over the place, Poland, Portugal, Ireland, East Europe, but in all cases, were very pleaseant and always helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Facilities are good, parking at the front is easy, nice intimate pool area with adequate seating. Main shopping area and promenade of St. Helier are all within a 10 minute casual stroll of the Hotel. All in all, a good choice for a base in St. Helier. The Hotels 3 star rating is well deserved.

"3 Girlies had a fab time."
This hotel is peaceful (maybe being opposite the Police station had something to do with it!), very comfortable and clean. It is 2 minutes drive to the town centre, but remember to get your parking tickets to use in the car parks or you WILL get a parking fine. If you go the the car park at Minden Place you can park for 3 hours and there is a shop across the road that sells them. The breakfast choice was great, full continental to english traditional breakfast. You can have what you want to suit your appetite. One of our party is in a wheelchair and when we got to the hotel we could not find the ramp, but my sister went in to ask and within seconds there were men all around us putting the ramps down and helping us in. The receptionist later explained that they had just had the steps revamped so the ramps had been moved but now they would stay in place as they had done before. The rooms were very comfortable and on the ground floor. There is a front lounge and you can take your drinks in there with you from the bar. There are four roman steps to the bar from inside the hotel but you can also get to the bar from going down the ramps(the bottom one is a wee bit steep) to the car park, turn left go about 15 feet and use the outside door at the front which has no steps at all. We were also told that if we needed help in any way just to ask - this included going up and down the ramps. The staff are VERY polite and courteous. We ate in the restaurant each night because it was easier for us. The food is 'a la Carte', so not the cheapest but still delicious and well worth a booking even if only on your last night you want to push the boat out. One of our party even asked if they could have sausage and chips instead - yes they got it!! We were made to feel very welcome and would have no hesitation in staying there again. Superb weekend away WORTH EVERY PENNY.
