The Scandic Luosto Hotel is a log-cabin complex situated in the Luosto ski resort, 50 metres from the slopes and five kilometres from Lampivaara amethyst mine.
This single-floor hotel features 59 guestrooms, 54 of which are traditional Scandinavian-style log cabins with open fires, saunas and kitchenettes. The remaining five are standard rooms. Amenities include satellite television with pay movies, tea and coffee-making facilities and irons.
After a day on the slopes guests can relax in the sauna or enjoy a drink in the bar. Keloravintola is a large log-cabin restaurant serving Scandinavian and traditional Lappish dishes prepared using local ingredients, and hosts live evening entertainment including music and dancing.
Skiers will find a fast- food restaurant, complete with sun terrace, situated at the lower station of the ski lift, and guests can take their own food to the igloo-shaped Nunnuka hut, or enjoy traditional food cooked on an open fire as part of a special themed evening.
Families with children can enjoy the toy corner, while guests with business needs will benefit from Internet access, fax and photocopying services in the business centre. The hotel also offers a ski equipment rental service and a grocery shop.
Those arriving by car will find a parking space for each log cabin and 20 parking spaces by the main building, and the hotel also features a caravan park with space for 140 motor homes. |

LOCATION
Scandic Luosto Hotel is located in the middle of the Luosto ski centre with its three ski lifts and seven slopes suitable for both families and more experienced skiers.
The ski slopes and 95 kilometres of cross- country skiing tracks are situated 50-300 metres from the hotel. Fans of snowboarding have their own 'Snowboarding Street'.
Guests can also enjoy the reindeer, husky-dog safaris, fishing and hiking in the nearby countryside. Lapphut Village is one kilometre away and Sodankylä heritage museum and church, which dates back to 1689, is 40 kilometres from the hotel. Rovaniemi Airport is 110 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 110 minutes.

"experience of a lifetime!"
Have stayed here for a week and was my best experience ever for a holiday! The scenery is like a true winterwonderland, and breathtaking.
We had our own cabin in the forest with kitchen, fireplace and sauna.
Wood was supplied daily. The restaurant was very nice. Very big breakfasts and good choices for dinner. Try the house-special; reindeer on a hotplate. hmm. mouthwatering. Possibilities to ski, just behind the hotel, and excursions right on the doorstep. One warning it was minus 35' celsius !!! Have fun there !!
