Schloss Monchstein Hotel is awarded by the Star Award as the best 5 star hotel in Austria by the "Austrian Chamber of Commerce" Professional Association of Hotel Industry 2004. The hotel was built in 1948, the Castle was built in 1350. You´ll find this unique castle of the luxury class over the rooftops of the old town of Salzburg, surrounded by a fabulous 15.000 m² wide park with lots of meadows and trees.
With lots of love for the details, the necessary accurateness as well as with the due respect referring the tradition of the ancient castle, a comprehensive reconstruction was carried out along with the erection of additional rooms and function rooms. And thus, the beautiful, historically valuable castle let its brightness shine over Salzburg after it has reopened well timed at the beginning of the festival season in July 2003.

Schloss Monchstein Hotel is situated on the top of the Mönchsberg, which is a hill in the city center of Salzburg. The individuality of Salzburg's one and only "5 -Star-Castlehotel" is also represented in its outstanding location. The castle is surrounded by its own large and quiet park. You can reach the old town within 7 minutes by using the "Mönchstein Panorama Path" and an elevator, which is built into the mountain, or by car.

All of them are configured with special emphasis on the bathrooms. They are designed around the theme of health and well-being with the elegant Calacata-marble, reminding you of an oasis spoiling your soul.
* The technical equipment includes TV, radio, CD player, DVD player and free access to the internet. Bathroom is decorated with Calacata marble and luxurious accessories, separated bathtub and shower as well separated toilette. Some bathrooms have only shower. In some cases connection to other rooms possible. |

"Princess pretending!"
This is a spectacular hotel!!!! It is perched on the side of the mountain overlooking Salzburg. You can take an elevator to the town center. This is a luxury hotel and is all that you can expect. The restaurant is 2 stars and the food to die for. The included breakfast is exceptional. As are all the staff. We stayed 3 nights July 2004 and I would highly advise this if you are looking for somewhere special! I can do princess!!! |

"Great Experience"
We are just completing a 3 night stay here and loved every minute. The staff was most helpful with dinner reservations, tours and at our every disposal.
While we were not right down in the middle of town and needed to do some walking, we didn't mind as we preferred to be away from the crowds.
We ate at the Pan E Vin, recommended by the staff. It was Italian and wonderful food.
We would stay here again in a minute.
