The Scotsman is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of Edinburgh on Edinburgh’s historical North Bridge, one minute stroll from Waverly mainline train station. The hotel location is great for the Hogmanay street celebrations over New Year's Eve which are a mere 5 minute walk away. This hotel famous for its high standard of accommodation and service is housed within the magnificent Scotsman Newspaper building. While the newspaper has long since moved out, the buildings restoration was careful not to eradicate the stunning wooden panelled reception room that is now the bar and brassiere which serves the Edinburgh elite. The junior suites known as the “Publisher Suites” are enhanced by a separate drawing or dining room, or with a luxurious area which is divided from the bedroom. The average size of these suites is 52.5sqm. All suites have wonderful views ranging from The Firth of Forth, Calton Hill, The Old Town of Edinburgh with its Castle, and Princes Street with the Scott Monument and Gardens. All “Publisher Suites” feature Egyptian cotton bed linen, complimentary shoeshine, complimentary water on turn down, complimentary newspaper, Edinburgh Monopoly Board, DVD player, broadband printer and a personal safe to fit a laptop. Bathrooms have Cowshed bathroom toiletries and bathrobe and slippers. Throughout the hotel there is wireless internet access.
