"Good for the price"
We just returned on Monday. Most importantly, our room was very clean. The rooms are very small, but we didn't care since we only slept and cleaned up before going back out to dinner, etc. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Just blocks from the tube to get anywhere, ATM just down the street, and cafes. Felt safe, even late at night. The only thing really lacking was the continental breakfast. Not much choice except cereal and rolls with jelly, so we just went down the street and had a full english breakfast! Otherwise, all we really needed.

"Great little room!"
This budget hotel is great at meeting your basic needs when vacationing in London. It is no-frills, but covers all the basics very, very well. We were extremely satisfied every one of our 9 days here (April, 2004). Breakfast is tea, coffee, milk, cereal, breads, and jam, but buy you own fruit at any of the local grocers in the bustling neighborhood to make your breakfast complete. Beds are very comfortable and the shower is strong. The room, and particularly the bathroom & shower, are small, but hey, you're not in London to spend the time in the hotel. Our double room also had a small closet and desk, and although it got a bit cramped as we brought back shopping purchases, it never bothered us enough to wish for something larger. The best things about Cordova House are that it reliably provides a quiet, clean environment, comfy beds, fine shower, decent breakfast, and friendly staff---and only a five minute walk to the Paddington Tube or Railway Stations to get you virtually anywhere in the country (only 15 minutes by Tube to Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus). It's a great place for holding your "stuff" as you enjoy London and then having someplace to come home to for a sound sleep. We will definitely return in the future.
