"Great Hotel From Frequent User"
I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times annually since 2000 as son attended US Naval Academy (including during a hurricane and 10 days after 9-11), and I've traveled several times a year throughout the US/Europe staying in a variety (some top-notch) of hotels, B&Bs, and vacation rental homes. Although this hotel is not at the very top of my list, it is definitely in my top accommodations category (which includes an analysis of value/$s spent), per my experience. My rooms/beds have always been very comfortable and clean, the staff professional, pleasant and helpful, room service and food excellent, and a shuttle available to downtown Annapolis and the USNA yard/stadium several times a day. This hotel has accommodated me quite nicely at very short notice on two occasions when I had very serious issues with two other Annapolis hotels (stay away from the O'Callaghan!)due to travel plans having been changed as the result of a family death and inclement weather. Only two problems I've experienced here, the bar/lounge doesn't stay open late enough and I once had a young lady at the front desk who I thought could have been a little more helpful to me when I was attempting to secure a cab from Annapolis to Washington, DC. I've also enjoyed the fact that I could walk from this hotel to shopping and dining. I will be staying here again in June of 2006 when my son gets married and his reception will be held at this hotel :)
