Mrs. Richard Osborn This hotel was excellant. My husband and I travel extensively and were very please with the excellent, professional service we recieved on our stay. We were there for a week, (Jan 8, 08) and everyone on the hotel staff was more than helpful and accomodating to our needs. They even sent a bottle of champagne to our room on our anniversary. The room was quite large and spotless everyday. The resturant food was excellant and the staff there very friendly, helpful and effecient. The desk staff were wonderful to us, speaking excellent English and helpful with all our information and booking needs. We just can't say enough about how good we felt about the hotel location and its entire staff. They all deserve a a pat on the back and praise for their profession, yet friendly behavior. "Great Hotel" Booked an overnight stay here via Octopustravel for January and after staying wish we could have stayed longer. Upon check in we were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic, very old world style room with modern day comfort. The suite was huge. Staff at the hotel were all incredibly professional yet friendly as could be. Our rate also included a full breakfast, which was very good indeed. Cocktail bar was lovely and served powerful cocktails and the staff even allowed my partner to practice his piano skills. Location was excellent, located in the new town but still so close to everything including the old town. The walk to the old town is lovely (especially in winter) lots of snow covered buildings and mountains to see. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Marvellous hotel" We stayed here for 1 night and thought it was fantastic. The rooms were lovely, but beware the price of the mini bar! The staff were very attentive and helpful. It was about a 15 minute walk to the old part of salzburg, but very pleasant walking through the meribel gardens. I would definately stay there again. We needed 4 rooms and they put them all together. Excellent!

"Great Hotel in a Great City" A wonderful big city hotel. When we arrived we were upgraded to a suite so that started our stay off on a great note. We were here for 3 days and could have stayed 30 it was so relaxing. Even thought the hotel had a number of tour groups staying you never felt crowded even at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast it was a great buffet with an omlet bar. Hotel is located about a good 10 minute walk from the old part of the city but its an enjoyable walk along the river or throught the park and its gardens. Room was very quiet even thought we overlooked a busy street. Free computers with internet access in the business center. If you are driving the hotel is easy to find and its a snap to get out of the city when are you are ready to leave.

"Great Hotel for visiting Salzburg" We have stayed at the Sheraton Salzburg twice now and really enjoy the hotel and staff! As Americans, we do not have to worry about the language barrier while staying there. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are quite nice with even terry cloth robes! I found that the walk from Olde Town Salzburg to be about 10-15 min but we are always visiting with the antique shops and retail stores along the way! I highly recommend this hotel to all and I am looking forward to our next visit!

"A delight" Great location - very comfortable facilities - excellent food - nice bar - friendly staff - this hotel is one of the best Sheratons I have stayed at. Has all the comforts with a European flair. We rented two rooms for two nights - and it was the best hotel of our two week trip through Austria and Bavaria. No hesitation to recommend it - and wil stay there again next time in Salzburg.

"Excellent hotel" I stayed at the Sheraton for 2 nights through the Starwood Cash & Points promotion at $60 USD/night. The taxi fare from the airport was about 15 EUR with tips. The Sheraton is right beside the Salzburg convention centre and is in quiet part of town. Not a lot of restaurants or shopping around there, but it is right beside Schloss Mirabell. One recommendation of a great cafe nearby is Fingerlos. Upon entering, the lobby is very nice and the reception/check in was fine. The people spoke perfect English. I got a room on the Starwood Preferred floor (4th floor) with a king bed. The furnishings were very nice, the bed extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning more than adequate for North American standards. The bathroom was quite large with the bathtub having some sort of a circle at one end for the shower. Strange as it looked, it worked fine. One thing I do need are a lot of electrical sockets to plug in my digital camera, camcorder, laptop, etc. Many hotels in Europe only give you one but the Sheraton had plenty of them. Walking into town takes about 10 to 15 minutes and there is a bus/tram that will take you there if you don't want to walk it. However, it was a very easy and picturesque walk so I always did walk it. Before coming, I was told the Sheraton Salzburg was the "crown jewel" of the entire Sheraton chain. Now that I've been there, I believe it. It is nothing like other Sheratons around the world, especially in North America. I would absolutely stay here again.
