"Modernized, yet old"
I stayed here three nights while on business. The hotel is OK, but it looks kind of old. Big rooms and that "old luxurious" feeling, but not the tight-run feeling of a modern business-hotel. It only had an internet connection in the "business center" in the lobby.
All in all, it's okay, clean and nice, but probably better for couples and tourists than for business travellers.

"Very Nice!"
The Sheraton Zagreb is a very, very nice hotel close to the center of
town. The rooms are spacious with a big safe (large enough to fit my laptop) in the room. The TV includes CNN, BBC, France 24 for English speaking channels, along with a log on regional TV including a Croatian channel that showed English movies with Croatian subtitles.
I had a problem with internet access throught the T-Mobile HotSpot (probably due to a lot of people using it) but was finally able to connect (~$18.00 for 3 hours, the pricing plan also included 1 hr and 24 hr, no CAT 5 interface, only wireless). The breakfast buffet is very nice, everything you would expect from a European hotel. The gym is very good (very, very helpful staff, nice weigh and aerobic machines, bring a towel from your room or you have to rent one [which
can be charged to your room, along with water, etc that the fitness centre offers), note it opens at 0630 hrs which puts a crimp in folks
wanting an early morning workout. I stayed there on business for a week in early Apr 07 and noticed a couple of travel groups (Americans
and Chinese) come through the hotel and the hotel was used for an International Conference while I was there, clearly it is a hotel that you would want to stay at. The piano player in the foyer was a nice touch. The hotel is right next to the a public transportation stop (about $1.00 for 90 minutes), it is about a 15 minute stroll to the center plaza. The gift shop had plenty of nice gifts to take home
at fairly reasonable prices. All in all, as a business traveller, I will be staying at this hotel again and would not hestitate recommending it to business travellers.

"As Good As It Gets"
Luxurious without ostentation, spectacular food, terrific location, spectacular food, helpful, friendly staff, spectacular food, large, immaculate rooms, spectacular food, reasonable (read cheap) prices. Spectacular food. On the down side, the spectacular buffet dinner is absolute murder on a diet.
