"Good Value Budget Hotel"
We stayed in this hotel during the Barcelona Festival at the end of September 06 and found it to be great value for money. It is clean, modern, and right across the road from Poble Sec tube station.
Contrary to other reviews I found the staff very helpful, I booked directly with the hotel and forgot to request a smoking room and when we arrived there was none available, however, the receptionist did manage to get us one and we changed on the 3rd night which I thought was good service. The second room was on the turn of the corridor and was therefore quite a bit smaller than the first room but it was still adequate. Don`t remember having a problem with the room temp even though it was still quite hot outside when we were there. I think this is a good choice for the money. Restaurants up the street (turn left out of hotel) very good value and friendly.

"Great hotel, highly recommended"
A great hotel. A nice room with airco, saftybox and a fine bathroom. There was no noice from outside. The breakfast was great, with a big choice. We also had dinner, it was very luxurious but not expensive.
The people were very nice and the service was good. There is a metro- (Poble Sec) and busstation right in front of the hotel. The hotel is located from a walking distance to Plaça d'Espanya, Monument a Colom, Parc Montjuïc and the Ramblas. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

"First class three star"
Stayed in the Silken 19/06/04-21/06/04. The hotel is in an ideal location about 400 yards from the Pl Espanya. If you arrive at Sants Station you take the metro green line and get off at "Poble Sec" . Depending on your exit point the Silken will either be immediately opposite or approx 100 yards away.
The hotel is of modern design and the double room I stayed in was very well porportioned and equipped.(much better than some of the 4 stars I stayed in)
I would thoroughly recommend the Silken to anyone intending to visit Barcelona.

"Fantastic quality, Great Location"
I chose the Hotel Silken Concordia as I had stayed in its grander sister hotel Gran Havana earlier in the year through business so knew they were good quality. As this was a lot cheaper I wasn't expecting too much from it! We were extremely pleasantly surprised! The hotel is newly opened this year and of excellent quality ( a 4 star I would say). We were room only so didn't try the food (breakfast 9 Euros each). Rooms had 2 large single beds, satellite TV, good value mini bar (!) and excellent bathroom and toiletries! The hotel was also very modern and very clean and friendly. Rooms also have blackout curtains, which as a regular traveller is a must for me! Staff also speak very good English if your Catalan or Spanish isn't great! The hotel is situated on Avenguida Paral.lel and there are restaurants and bars on the doorstep (Basilica was very nice food and good value if you wanted to stay local in a modern setting-it's less than a minute a way from the hotel on the way to the Metro)
The location was the bonus for us, thinking we may be out of the way a bit we were pleased to find a metro station straight across the road (Poble Sec)which is open Mon-Fri, otherwise the station has another entrance a couple of minutes walk up the road. We didn't try the walk from the hotel to the city because we walked so much around the city in the daytime my feet were too tired, but the Columbus monument/Magic Fountain(an absolute must at night!!!!)/Las Ramblas/Marina/were literally all within 5 mins on the Metro and no more than 3 stops-and to be honest the metro is so easy and super efficient we used it all the time... and it runs til 2am! We bought a 3 day TMB ticket for 11 Euros each which you could use on underground metro, buses, trains, trams, furnicular railway...more or less everything!! We certainly got our money's worth and found it much better value than the tourist buses (20 euro a day). (Taxi from the airport to hotel approx 16/17 Euro's.)
All in all, I cannot rate the hotel or its' location enough...we had a fantastic time with not one complaint!!

"Nice and comfortble"
I visited Barcelona in August 2004, I booked the Hotel on Lastminute and was wary that the hotel may not be as nice as i had hoped. I was also concerned that it may be away from the main attractions. On arrival i was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice, clean + modern looking hotel. The staff were always helpful and smiling. The Ramblas was a 20min walk or 2 min metro ride. Everything was easily accesible and the metro system was easy to use. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Very impressed with this hotel! Would return"
Stayed here for 2 nights in October. The hotel was really nice. The decor was very stylish, the room was large, with a big bathroom and a minibar of delights! We had a large bed, plenty of cupboard space and it was clean.
We only had the breakfast once as it was not included. It was fine but I think it is easier to go and get your own when you are out and probably cheaper.
The location is good as well. You are not near the ramblas and the crowds but near the metro and it is only a couple of stops to the Placa Espayna. Would definitely stay here again. Reccomend it.
