"LIke staying at the Guggenheim itself"
Fabulous hotel right across the street from the Guggenheim Museum. We paid extra for a view of the museum, and it was right ouside of our window. We were not disappointed!!!The hotel is minimalist but friendly and cute. Wonderfully helpful staff at front desk. Rooftop dining for breakfast with incredible view of the museum. Buffet breakfast was very luxurious- especially the homemade omelets and the crepes with chocolate sauce!!!
The location is perfect. The only negatives were : few machines in workout room (one of which was broken) and badly stained light colored carpet in the hall.
We took a day trip to beautiful beachfront San Sebastian by local bus where we ate incredible tapas in the old town.

"lives up to its own hype"
I was a little intimidated by the slick and stylish website - would we feel comfortable with our two little girls?! But the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. The views over the Guggenheim are unmatched and the luxury of seeing it in all different lighting (and weather!) conditions makes you want to leave the curtains always open. Having arrived from the ferry and its tiny cabins our room was ready immediately and defintiely had the same wow factor as the lobby, and the breakfast on the terrace was also a great start. Bilbao and the GHDB offered the perfect blend of style, luxury, culture and good food, easy modern transport links and relaxed/ fun/ stimulating family areas within just a few minutes walk of the hotel.
