"Stunning, Fascinating - an amazing experience"
If you are into modern, contemporary design - you have to stay at Puerta America... not just once, but several times.
A stay at the hotel is amazing because the design is unlike anything you have ever seen in any other hotel - and you have so many floors to choose from... whether you like flowing organic lines like the ones created by Zaha Hadid for Floor One, the fragrance of the leather panelling in the Norman Foster designed floor (2) or the science-fiction feel of stainless style in the Plasma Studios level.
This time, I chose to stay at Floor 7, designed by Ron Arad. Look at the images - a round bed, facing the window... and your TV pictures are projected on a screen that descends in front of the window at the push of a button.
The Puerta America is not necessarily a hotel for people who need to 'function' on a business trip. It is a design adventure - totally cutting edge and absolutely fascinating.
The bar on the roof is a fashionable hang-out, breakfast is very nice and totally overpriced as in many other places.
But I definitely want to stay there again - maybe at Floor 12, the zen-inspired Arata Isozaki rooms ...

"brilliant hotel"
Hello,
we had four beautiful days in the hotel. Beautiful here means excellent design, superb designed rooms (change room every day!!!), great views, great bar and restaurant, breakfast very good.
But if you're not interested in modern design hotels, don't go here. Beware that the hotel is worth a visit now (already open one year), but you see already some damage from its frequent use.

"What a hotel experience!"
This hotel is not like any other hotels. Make sure you stay at a floor that makes you comfortable though, not all floors are like that. My favourite are floor 7 if you are in love or single traveller and 6 if you share a room with just a friend. Location could be better though, a little bit far from the city.

: "Nice hotel"
Just returned from a stay at the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid. The hotel is quite nice - very different from any other hotel I've been to. The key to this hotel is that each floor is designed by a different designer so all the floors have unique looks. I stayed on the 7th floor - great bed and projector TV.
Pros: Great design and clean hotel. 24hr room service. Good bar in the lobby. Good service.
Cons: Area - not walking distance to anything special, so you have to take a taxi to go just about anywhere.
I was here for business, so was basically in and out, but I'm not sure I would recommend this for leisure travelers as I'd want to be closer to a metro and the city.
