"An oasis of calm"
We have justv returned from our 5th visit to the Sir Anthony and it is getting better. The hotel has had a change of manager and the improvements can be seen. This hotel has only 72 rooms and most of the guests have been there several times before.the gardens are immaculate and the pool warm and inviting(never more than 6 people in at one time). The food is ok but breakfast menu never varies which can be a little boring. The rooms have recently been decorated and are always very clean with beds changed daily and towels twice a day.The staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble champagne and fruit in rooms on arrival and little treats of cheeses and wine during your stay champagne and chocolates on leaving. Each year we say we will not come next year but we always do.We travel independantly booking direct with the hotel they pick us up at the airport and take us back at the end of our stay. All in all a very relaxing holiday. One last thing they have had new sunloungers they do not have cushions as the old ones did ask the pool boy for a cushion because after two weeks you may need a chiropractor.

"Excellent service"
Fortunately we were upgraded from the Cleopatra on arrival as it was full. I say fortunate as the rest of the hotels in the complex are too impersonal and American in style i.e. gaudy and over the top. The service is the most outstanding feature of the Sir Anthony in that any request made to any member of staff is dealt with immediately. The rooms are quite spacious but although the beds are 7'6" wide the matress' are too hard and the pillows too small. There are no tea & coffee facilities in the rooms. The breakfasts are only beaten by the Oriental in Bangkok for variety and quality. One could have a choice of 5 breakfasts cooked to order plus mega choice buffet tables including fizzy wine and smoked salmon. A ground floor room gives you immediate access to the pool and sun loungers and is recommended. Good hotel for couples and families as it is a quiet hotel - not for fun and frivolity. B& B is best as there are plenty of places to eat out in the town. A good place to chill out.

"A wonderful week in the sun at a wonderful hotel"
My wife and I stayed at the Sir Anthony Hotel from January 16th 2007 for 1 week. With trepidation of the reputation of Tenerife (our first time here although we have previously been to other Canarian Islands) we were pleased to see a hotel in an area outside Playa de las Americas without Macdonalds and similar eateries.
The area is served by high class Jewellery, Perfume, Fashion and electrical shops and many different Restaurants. The hotel, situated on the sea front with a promenade just outside the hotel gardens (security key only to reach the pathway) has 72 bedrooms allowing a very personal service from the general hotel and Restaurant staff as reported by other members. The level of cleanliness and general services is excellent and the Restaurant menu and quality of presentation is well within the range of a 5 star hotel.
On half board, the a la Carte menu comprises a choice of 7 cold and 7 hot starters, 7 or 8 main courses and 8 desserts to choose from, plus Chef`s Specials for the night - more than adequate for anyone, whether standard, vegetarian, Coeliac or other. The Chef`s will arrange whatever type of food you require with short notice. The size of the hotel allows this degree of personalisation.
Facilities are limited to the swimming pool, gardens (lush vegitation) and surrounding area and if you want quiet peaceful days this is for you. For those who want `activities` there are the other 4 hotels on the near site.
We of a certain age (66 in my case) do not wish to have `families and children` causing mayhem. This is OUR type of hotel and due to it`s size also OUR personnel level of service. We know of many couples who have been coming here in winter for many years. We now know why!
I can highly recommend this hotel.
