"Try It"
Don't be put off by some of the negative comments here. We were delighted with our rooms. Staff were friendly & helpfull. Apart from our breakfast (which was excellent) we did not eat here . . . perhaps we were unduly influenced by some of the feedback on this site. The location & gardens were impressive. Would definately stay here again even if it is a little pricey.

"Fantastic"
We visited Skye for two days and stayed at the Skeabost. We found it to be the nicest of all the hotels in the area. We booked through laterooms.com and managed to get a £300 a night suite for £100 a night! It had views of the river, a big four poster bed, wide screen tv, mini bar and a magnificent bathroom with a traditional claw foot bath big enough for two! The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic - well worth staying in for dinner as nearby Portree had very lttle to offer winter visitors. The hotel also provided free use of the snooker table, internet, family games etc and had an open fire in each public room including the bar. T & R

"Loved it!!"
I recently went to Skeabost Country House hotel for 4 nights to celebrate Hogmanay. Our party consisted of 2 couples in our mid (okay late) twenties and we had a fantastic time. On the long drive from Glasgow to Skye I have to admit after reading the previous reviews on trip advisor we were slightly concerned about going to Skeabost but I’m, pleased to say we had nothing to worry about. My boyfriend and I were booked into a suite (room 4) with a big four poster bed, widescreen TV, modern bathroom, mini bar, hairdryer etc and our friends had just booked a standard room. When they saw their room it was very small and old fashioned but the hotel offered them a very reasonable upgrade to a beautiful suite. Half way through my stay I had to change rooms and we were given another suite (room 2) which was even nicer with double basins and a free standing bath big enough for 2!! The food was delicious. The menu was slightly limited but out of the 3 dinners we had not one of us had a bad meal. The dining room was lovely and would be very romantic for couples. There were two big sitting rooms with log fires. We tended to sit in the blue room which had a good selection of board games. The breakfast was also great – we even got haggis one morning!! The staff were all very nice and so helpful. They all worked extremely hard to ensure our stay was enjoyable. One other thing I loved which I had never seen before was at the front door they had welly boots in all sizes. As it was December on the Isle of Skye you can imagine it was very wet but that didn’t stop us going out for a stroll, we just grabbed a pair of wellies and away we went. I think this hotel is underrated and I will definitely recommend it to friends and go back again soon. If you upgrade to a better room you won’t be disappointed.
