"Love the sofitel mybed!"
Great hotel, nice rooms, GREAT bed! However the location is not so great, takes a 10 minute walk with a lot of stairs to the la defense subway/train station (even more when the -- escalators are not working)

My husband booked this hotel for our stay in Paris for my birthday March 2-4. I was unhappy that he booked a hotel in La Defense as I heard it was far from central Paris. However it only took us about 5 minutes on the Metro to get there from where our airport link bus dropped us off at Porte Maillot. The La Defense area is very quiet at night and on the weekends as it's a business district, so that was a plus. The hotel itself is very clean, bright and modern. It's a business class hotel, so the standards are very high. We had booked a standard room, but the kind man at reception upgraded us for free! We couldn't believe how kind and helpful all of the reception staff were. The bathrooms were luxurious with amazing "rain effect" showers and giant bath tubs. The bath products were gorgeous plus there are complimentary slippers and bath robes on hand. Best of all was the wonderful, pillow-like, king-sized bed. This bed is pure heaven and worth the distance to La Defense alone! I had the best sleep I've had in years in that bed. We loved it so much we're planning to order one from the company this year. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Paris. People with trouble walking might want to give it a miss though because there are quite a lot of stairs involved once you get to La Defense.

Sofitel La Defense Grande Arche was terific,it is a really well designed hotel with very beautifull rooms, the best hotel bed i have ever slept, modern and spacious bathrooms, and very well decorated facilities. Staff was good although a little bit cold, especially from the reception guys, where when i was returning to my room late at night they giving me the feeling that i woke them up. One negative thing of this place as the previous poster mentioned is that is really hard to access there by foot, especially if you have lot of luggage...the major reason is that the walking bridge to the hotel is under construction and most of the elevators of the area are not working, keep in mind that you are in the business area of Paris,with skyscrapers and different levels,you never touch the surface..all the area is build up in different levels so its full of stairs and elevators, i will advice you to go to the hotel by taxi until the bridge construction finish, an other negative is the high prices of everything, the water 250ml, cost 6 euros in the mini bar and the breakfast more than 25, i understand that is a business hotel but some things could be more reasonable,6 euros for a small botlle of water are lot. Although i cant give lower mark on this hotel than 5/5,the quality of my stay, the professonal treatment, and especially the last minute price i had found which was under 200 hundret euros per night was ideal, and the comfortable bed gives you the best conclusion after hours of walking and sightseeing in Paris, the metro station is close and there is a mall and some restaurants nearby,there is a 24 hour restaurant also which is property of the hotel..i would return if i found again lower price than the normal rate which is 350 euros per night..and would have turn my subject review from tottaly satisfied to overpriced....
