"great hotel for the money; ok location"
After booking on Priceline then reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, I was very skeptical about staying here. The location was farther away from sights than I wanted and was not in the city center, but the price was right - $115/night including taxes. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived late that night! The lobby looked great with flat panel TVs wth the hotel local playing, and staff was very nice and helpful, spoke English when we tried broken french, and the lobby even had free WiFi. Our room was on the 21st floor and the view was great! The rooms had been renovated with recessed lighting, stainless steel fixtures and had a flat screen TV mounted on the wall! The beds were SO comfortable too! In the bathroom there were large bath towels, robes and there was even a real orchid stem on the lavatory! The metro ride was not bad to most of the sites - plan 20 minutes to Notre Dame, 15 to Eiffel tower. The hotel is also close to the train if you want to visit Versaille. Versaille is only a 15-20 min train ride away and you don't have to change trains. Make sure you don't get on at Ballard, but walk a couple blocks to I believe, the Victor station. I did noticed that there were some renovations taking place down a corrider near ours but never once heard any construction work being done! Our experience at this hotel was excellent - great value for the money!!! highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind not staying in the city center... but hey, Paris is pretty spread out anyway and you have to metro to most attractions.

"Great Deal, Location OK, Highly Recommend!"
I booked this hotel on Priceline.Com and was disappointed when I read the reviews. So, I prepared myself for the worse and was delightfully surprised!
The service was impeccable! The staff was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. They even helped us find a bar to watch March Madness at 2AM! When I left my wedding ring at the hotel (*gulp*) they kept it in their safe and when I returned a week later, they paid for my taxi to come pick it up.
The hotel rooms are exactly what a 4* rating should be. Our King Size bed was very comfortable with its down padding and comforter. The room also had a flat panel tv. I loved the shampoo so much, I took one home as a souvenir.
Yes, the location was the last stop on the metro in Balard but honestly...it wasn't bad at all. It's about a 3 1/2 minute walk to the metro. From the metro it takes about 15 mins to get to the Eiffel.
We paid $110/day for a 4* hotel and it was well worth it!

"Nice hotel, great price, last stop on one of the metro lines"
Like many others who have stayed at this hotel and written a review, I too booked this hotel through Priceline. When I read some of the reviews, my heart sank. However, after staying at this hotel, I have to stay that my experience was definitely more positive than others.
Many of the reviews I read occurred as the hotel was being renovated. I am happy to report that, upon arrival at the hotel and requesting a renovated room, front desk informed me that all room renovations were complete (public area work may still be in progress). The room we received did, indeed, seem completely renovated. The beds were super comfortable and firm and the decor very pleasant. The bathroom was very clean (although the half shower door was not as effective at blocking out water as I had hoped and I could hear some of the pipes from the bathroom). The room itself was moderately sized, had a fridge, and a safe.
I also found the staff to be quite friendly. The front desk was able to find us a non-smoking room with twin beds when we requested. Concergie was very well informed and helpful.
I only ate at the hotel cafe once. The food was decent, but a bit on the pricey side. In case you are looking for cheaper food options, there is a shopping center right next door with a very small food court consisting of a baguette place, Hippo restaurant, McDonalds, pizza, etc. For general groceries, we asked the concergie, who directed to 2 small stores which were about 10 minutes away on foot.
The hotel also has free wifi in the lobby area. The signal and speed were decent. In room high-speed internet is available for a fee.
As far as location, I was prepared for the worst so I guess I didn't find it as bad as expected. The nearest metro station is Balard and is located about a block from the hotel. It is the last stop on the metro line, but only about 10-15 minutes from the Eiffel.
Based on the experience and the price (100/night plus tax), I was pleased with the stay.
