"Very friendly staff" Located just outside the ringstrasse, but a quick walk to the trolley, the Sofitel is a comfortable, reasonably-priced place to stay. It has a small but comfortable lobby with a nicely decorated, intimate bar area. The rooms are clean and pleasant, with a stylish art deco mural on one wall. Most of the rooms are right on the street, but it's fairly quiet at night, and turning on the fan eliminated most noise! The Sofitel's biggest draw for me was its charming and helpful staff.

"Very nice stay" Stayed in the hotel for one week on business. Conference facilities in the hotel were also used, which were excellent in terms of the room and the refreshments given during breaks. Hotel room was fresh and clean, staff were very helpful - you can rent a bicycle from the hotel, organise opera trips etc. Breakfast usual good selection. Not cheap in terms of room cost but for Vienna is about normal, only 5 mins walk to main shops etc. Don't use the room telephone, this is a rip off!

"Excellent Value" This hotel is excellent value and in very convenient location for easy walking to all major city center attractions. I liked the feel of boutique style ambiance and our room was very nice for the price with art deco decor. I found the staff very professional and accommodating. The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and prompt. The only major negative was the lingering cigarrette smell in the room that would not go away even after keeping our window open for two days. Another minor annoyance was the noise from the street (our room faced the busier street and the noise was a bit bothersome). Perhaps with better window (double paned) the noise level would be considerably reduced. When booking room ask about the location to avoid the noise problem.
