"Great out of season holidays"
We just came back from a 5 week holiday on the Costa del Sol .we stayed in the Sol Principito Apartments , part of the Sol Principe hotel complex.
We were there the last week of January 2007 and the month of of February .It was absolutely fantastic .The premises were ultra clean ,they could not stop sweeping etc. throughout the entire complex. The location is great just across from the promenade along the Mediteranean ,it is about 12 kilometers long .To be noted we were there at the begining of the season and a number of restaurants and hotels were still closed .It was very serene and quiet ,but I must imagine in popular holiday season with lots of families vacationing it must be quite noisy.
The hotel /apt complex share all facilities and programs ,they are planned for every day and evening. The dining room is vast and offers a good varied menu , but we choose to eat out or picknick in since we had kitchen facilities in our apt. There are numerous places to purchase food in the immediate area.
Public transportation ,bus and train is very good .For touring you get better value in travel agencies outside the hotel, and end up in the same bus tour since all those who sell tours send their clients to a common carrier.
Be aware that most Spaniards speak only Spanish which is a problem but at the end you learn to make do.
Hey I could go on ,but it is very nice and I would return.

"great place, great location"
I have just returned from a week at the sol principito apartments. last year i stayed in the hotel part. i find this complex absolutely fantastic.
the location is excellent and the apartments are fine. the beach is a 2 minute walk away and the main shopping area is a 5 euro taxi ride or 20/25 minute walk away. there are 2 swimming pools and a kiddies pool. the pool on the hotel side seems to be used more by older persons whilst the pool on the other side is very family orientated and is patrolled by a lifeguard til 7 pm. there are no shortage of loungers but et down early if you wish to get one poolside.
the apartments have all the essentials in them that you require for a sun holiday except a kettle but we just boiled the water in a pot. there is a little cafe and supermarket along with other gift shops in the complex.
the entertainment side of things is also excellent. there is a childrens club which is on daily. this is free for 4 hours a day and if children wish to do a full day package they cost 35 euro for a 5 days.
the staff are extremely helpful and there is a show on every night which the adults and children both love. there is a mini disco on at 9pm every night for children before the show starts.
i wouild have no hesitation in recommending this complex, it really is excellent.

"The best thing about this hotel is the Victoria Inn around the corner"
the hotel was lovely and the staff are very friendly. We loved the entertainment and the pool. The beach is a short walk across a main road. We found by accident a fantastic pub abd when I say pub I mean pub. It is run by a brilliant family Kevin Carol Glyn and Robert they has DVDs to keep the kids occupied games and colourings we didnt see our kids for a week. The food is brilliant, their prices are so cheap we diddnt see the point of waisting money once we had found the vic. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE VIC or you have missed one of the best pubs in Playamar

"Fantastic"
We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Sol Principe and would highly recommend to anyone with young families up to the age of 12. We have an 8 year old daughter who had a whale of a time at the kids club. The entertainers work very hard and are brilliant with the children, even knowing them by their first name after only a couple of days.
They encourage the children to take part in loads of activities such as the climbing wall, ariel slides, t-shirt and kite painting....you name it they do it!!
The entertainment in the evenings has a great family atmosphere, the children even get to be the entertainment taking part in shows of "Peter Pan" and "Grease", it totally makes their holiday! The only drawback is the entertainment is on a weekly rotation so best to avoid seeing the same things twice by venturing out sometimes!!
The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the decor is very modern. We were half board the food was really good with loads of choices, from swordfish and squid to pizza and hot dogs for the kids! Again the only downside is this is repeated on a weekly basis so you kinda now what to expect the second week. Would still highly recommend it though.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet location and the entertainment is finished before midnight, its a very peaceful place to stay!
All in all, would go back in a second...there were loads of very happy holidaymakers their who did not want to return home and cant wait to go back!!!

"Excellent Hotel!!!! Pleasantly surprised"
We stayed at the Sol Principle for 1 week with our family of five. The hotel was fablous. We can't say enough good things about our stay. The family rooms was perfect for our family of 5. The bathroom was huge. We had a spectacular view of the ocean from 2 sliding glass doors. The rooms were very clean.
The location of the hotel was perfect. We walked every evening on the Costa Del Sol promenade.
There were plenty of activities for both the children and the adults in the hotel. The kids club was excellent. The staff was very friendly.
The front desk staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The were representatives from various travel representatives to help with excursions.
The food was terrific. Large selection and many stations so there never was a lineup.
Overall, highly recommend this hotel to families.

"Fantastic hotel!"
We have just returned from the Sol principe hotel in Torremolinos and had 1 week there and i have to say the hotel was fantastic. The cleanliness, the amenities, the location everything. The rooms were spacious, large marble bathroom, with maid service everyday. Large balcony with partial sea view. Small fridge to use. Large wardrobe and storage space. Sky TV. Super air con - which was just what you need with a lovely 36 degree temperature!
The public areas are all air conditioned too and extremely clean. The approach and driveway to the hotel is quite grand and has disabled access if required. The Lobby is huge and has large sofas and seats for you to relax, there is a sports bar and also a a larger bar (which has quite poor entertainment mainly geared to older people) and the buffet restaurant.
If you choose to eat in the hotel, the food is plentiful, the main dishes such as salads, potatoes, paella, desserts tend to stay the same each night but the main dishes change each day which is good. Some nights they have themed nights - mexican was the best!
The location was superb and great for couples, families with children and anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. There is a childrens pool at the front of the hotel and then another pool to the rear. The beach was 2 mins across the road, which is super and 4 euros per sun lounger per day. There are lots of bars infront of the hotel, on the sea front but not bars that are loud, family orientated ones and most of them close around 1am. One bar which we had fun at was the 'bus stop bar' they do good old bingo and quizzes on certain nights of the week and drinks alot cheaper than the sea front bars. The owners Sue and Alan could not do enough for us and if you fancy some english cooking, this is for you!
From the hotel the centre of Torremolinos is 1 mile up hill, so we got a taxi for about 5 euros. From here you can get the bus to Benalmadena (about 20 min ride) Fuengirola ( 40 min ride) then marbella (65 mins). Costing 4 euros.
The hotel is mainly geared towards families but as we travelled as a couple, you can avoid kids clubs and such like if you want to. Definately a super hotel and would recommend it most definately!

"What a magic place!!!"
Well after bein 2 this hotel for the last 7 years, i would say it is great! It is a really friendly, happy and well catered for hotel! You couldnt ask for better! The rooms are really clean and maids are in every day.
Food is good and is very varied each day, with the restaurant bein very clean.
Entertainment is one of the greatest things of this hotel, if you cant find anythin 2 do, then you really are hard 2 please. Entertainers are great and do anythin 2 help you, from the very young baby 2 the older pensioners, everyone is kept happy! Lots of different clubs to go to for all ages.
Shows at night are really good too, u couldnt ask for better shows, as alot of effort are put into them by the entertainers.
The front pool at the hotel is for people who want 2 spend a quiet time on holiday relaxing by the quiet pool, but the back pool at the apartment side is where all the action takes place, and activites are on offer all day from the in house entertainers.
Whether you chill by the pool or take part in activities all day, then this really is the place for you.
If u are lookin for a great, relaxin child friendly hotel then this is the place to come.
We are returnin this year for our 8th year!! We just love it!!
