Hotel Information
The most accessible resort by the fjord...
Solstrand Fjord Hotel is situated right by the fjord of Bergen. This unique location right by the Bjornefjord, an arm of the Hardangerfjord, is as beautiful and serene as it is convenient.
The hotel was built by Christian Michelsen, Norway's first prime minister. Solstrand has been in the Schau-Larsen family for four generations, preserving a tradition of unsurpassed hospitality, traditional cuisine and a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel offers an exciting mixture of tourism, recreation, social life and a management development program for Norwegian industry. Despite restoration and extension, Solstrand is still close to what must have been the original character of both the house and the cultural landscape at the turn of the century.
* Solstrand has successfully hosted international meetings and conferences for more than 50 years. These include the renowned Solstrand Courses on management, strategy and organizational development, which are offered by the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
* Most of the bright, comfortable conference rooms offer lovely views of the fjord. The hotel also offers a wide range of recreational activities that allow participants to experience Norway’s unspoiled natural environment.
* Relax, reflect and take in the serenity of the fjord at Solstrand’s recently expanded SPA. Integrating Scandinavian bathing traditions and ideas of wellness, the SPA reflects the hotel’s vision of a rural idyll.
