LOCATION
Sonne Hotel is located about 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Interlaken in the peaceful suburb of Matten, next to the main road leading up to Grindelwald.
The hotel arranges Adventure Days for the guests that included River rafting paragliding, ice climbing and biking : In the morning guests do a spectacular Riverraft on the challenging, powerful mountain river, the Lütschine at Interlaken's "back door". Feel free like a bird up in the sky in the late afternoon's sunset, high above the golden roof's of Interlaken.

The Adventure Days finish with a smooth mountain - bike ride along the waterfall's of Lauterbrunnen valley up to the best fruitpie at Juerg's Trachsellauenen restaurant.

"Retro-Review Hotel Sonne"
I stayed at the Hotel Sonne back in 1963 when on my first holiday abroad. The family who ran it, Mr & Mrs Seiler-Barben, a lovely couple, and along with their daughter Ursula, were all friendly and helpful in so many ways making my stay a most memorable one, and this was over forty years ago! The food was good and of the local style and the waiting staff always attentive and polite. The room was confortable, but in those days en-suite was not de-rigeur, so when one had a bath, one had to pop down the passage to see if a bathroom was free then bag it quickly! Happy days! I expect things have changed somewhat, but if the guest-care aspect remains the same, then it will still be a little haven of happiness |
