Splendid
My boyfriend and I went to Nice this summer, and since we are students we were looking for a cheap, but clean and nice place to say. And that we found! I will totaly recommend Splendid Hotel Nice. It has a great location about 5 minutes from the Promnade des Anglais, and very close to both reaturants and shopping. Beside this, the hotel staff is very helpfull, and the breakfast area is gorgeus. I would stay at this hotel again.

"Splendid is Splendid!"
Have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Splendid,booked flight and hotel through Easyjet at a very good rate.Our standard room on the 4th floor was clean and well maintained and although not front facing had a nice balcony to relax on at the end of the day.Service was excellent,clean sheets,toiletries etc and the staff were cheerful and friendly.We went on a room only basis but there was no shortage of restauraunts and bars within a very safe 5 minute walk.Having heard first hand of the problems visitors to other hotels were having I am glad that we chose the Splendid. All in all I would recommend the Splendid to anyone staying in Nice and I will definately be returning.

"Plesantly surprised"
Was pleasantly surprised . I found the guys on the desk very helpful,. In house carpark is not cheap, street parking is possible and very resonable. The S[plendid is in a great location, safe area, central yet away from the traffic and crowds. We booked a delux room, when we arrived robes were not in room, sent them up in minutes. Very clean, great spacious balcony. Roof pool area was excellent, ( not for kids no shallow end) would certainly stay again... it was a very pleasant, no frills, value for money enjoyable experience.

"Good Hotel, Worth the Money"
A good hotel, which was clean, our room was upgraded on arrival and was spacious with good facilities, but there was not much of a view. Breakfast was not bad, although a little basic, but a very good view. Staff spoke good English and were friendly enough. The hotel is in a quiet part of town, but close enough to the seafront and the main centre of Nice, also close to the railway station, but would not recommend walking on your own to/from the railway station late at night. Would probably go back to the hotel if we went back to Nice, and would recommend to those who want to go to Nice but don't want to pay over the odds.

"Loved the Splendid"
I stayed at the Splendid with my mum for my birthday at teh begining of June and we loved everything about the hotel. We had a standard room on the 5th floor and it was lovely. We flew with Jet 2. We landed at terminal 1 and as you come out of teh airport the bus was on your left - no 98. The bus cost 4 euros each and took us to the end of the road which the hotel was on and then it was a very short walk of less than 5 minutes to the hotel. The room was spacious and well equiped with air con and large opening windows so you coudl see out right down to the sea. We were shown to our room by a very helpful man who showed us where everything was and how the air con/Tv all worked. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the sea front and about the same distance from the pedestrianised shopping area where there are many bars & restaurants. The pool area of the hotel was wonderful with amazing views. The pool itself is small but well worth having on a hot summers day. Umbrellas are available for the hot lunch time hours however you have to ask behind the bar for these. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and the food was amazing althought the atmosphere was non existant. I would recommend the apple tart with the cinamon ice cream it was amazing!! Monaco is very close by. We took the bus which was about a 30 minutes journey. The views along the way were amazing and it only cost 1 euro 30 each way! Overall the trip was great and the hotel wonderful. I would definately recommend it!

"Lovely Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel with our 2 children in a junior suite Room was large with 2 seperate areas and a very large bathroom Fabulous view of the Promenade from our room Staff were very friendly and were very helpful regarding drives to take from Nice as we had a car, which we parked in their car park. Breakfast on the roof top was really nice and they were child friendly. We loved the location as it was not on the Promenade yet close to everything when walking Would not hesitate staying here again.

"A great Hotel."
I have just got back from a lovely stay in Nice. We stayed at the Splendid for 3 nights and I found the hotel to be excellent. I had researched many hotels in Nice and found the room rates on hotels.com for the Splendid to be exactly what I was after. Our room was clean and very comfortable; we also had a small balcony with great views of the city. The hotel is in a really great location, 5 minutes walk from the beach and a 5-10 minute walk from the main shops and restaurants. I can't fault the Splendid hotel in any way, would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others staying in Nice.

"Absolutely beautiful hotel!"
We stayed in the presidential suite which was absolutely amazing. Nice is the prettiest place in Europe I've ever seen! The staff at the Splendid was pretty nice and helpful but beware, if you plan on getting noisy stay away from the Splendid! The walls must be quite thin because we received some front-desk calls saying that we were much too noisy! I will definitely return to this hotel, seeing as it was gorgeous and near to the beach!

"Excellent stay"
We stayed 2 nights in nice at the Splendid Hotel in a Suite, which was lovely with a lounge/guest bedroom and master bedroom with a spacious bathroom and a jacuzzi bath ! I would recommened this hotel to anyone who wants to go to Nice whether it be for 2 nights or 2 weeks - a truly family orientated hotel in the quieter part of town. The staff are helpful, the swimming pool on the roof has a beautiful view of Nice with a bar and lovely restaurant. Overall 8 out of 10. We went for a drink in the Negresco, a complete waste of money, one Lemonade and a beer 15 euros, its all very tacky and no class.

"Splendid trip"
We booked a 3 day trip to Nice, flights with easyjet and booked the Hotel Splendid directly online. We landed at terminal 2 Nice airport and found a bus just outside the terminal building. It cost 4 euro each to travel into Nice. The bus travelled for no more than 10-15 mins before we reached our stop. We watched out for the Negresco hotel and simply pressed the bell for the next stop. We crossed the road and looked up the Rue Meyerbeer and saw the Splendid hotel sign brightly lit up. The hotel was excellent in every way, location, room, staff, cleanliness etc, no complaints at all, we ate in the hotel restauant and found it nice enough. There is an excellent Kebab shop about half way up rue Meyerbeer, has to be tried. The highlight of our trip was finding Ma Nolans pub, its about 10 mins walk from the hotel walk along the sea front until you come to 2 arches. The entire street was alive with restaraunts and pubs, during the day there is a street market. Ma Nolans was the best pub we visited by a long way, the atmosphere was great, the food superb and the staff really friendly. Live music every night, excellent sports coverage on 4 or 5 well placed screens. The place was a magnet for travellers and locals alike of all ages. We enjoyed our trip to Nice, the old city is worth seeing, the beach was full of pebbles, the shops were a bit tacky and exensive. The only bad thing I could say is the amount of dog mess in the streets was noticable. But overall a good trip and I fully recommend the hotel Splendid and Ma Nolans.
