The first hotel at Stalheim was opened in 1885, and by 1895 had been expanded to cater for about 150 guests. Word of the hotel's high standard, combined with the stunning view of Naroydalen valley, travelled abroad. Royalty and other notabilities from far and wide were frequent guests, the most loyal being Keiser Wilhelm II, who visited Stalheim twenty summers in a row.

LOCATION

Stalheim hotel itself is built on the edge of a 300 meter high cliff, and from the plateau in front of the hotel you can admire the spectacular view of the Naroyvalley and a 937 meter high mountain called "Jordalsnuten" or the "Sugarlump". This view is considered to be one of the most glorious and impressive in the world.
