"Very pleased with Hotel Stirka" My father and I spent three nights at the Hotel Stirka in November of 2005. The room was very clean, quiet and large enough for our needs (how much room do you need anyway?). The beds were comfortable and the en suite bathroom (with normal sized bathtub) was large with plenty of hot water. The breakfast, which was quite good, had both hot and cold items. The hotel staff were very helpful and accomodating. There is a computer with free internet access in the lobby. The Kobylisky metro stop is within easy walking distance as is the tram stop (Stirke ke). The city center is only 15 mins by metro. The Stirka is located in a working class area of Prague. If you are a hotel snob, this is not the place for you. But is your want clean, comfortable, safe and AFFORDABLE, you won't be dissappointed.

"Great Budget Hotel" Spent 3 nights at Hotel Stirka. We had a simple no-frills double room with ensuite shower, hairdryer, tv, kettle with tea/coffee etc. There is no lift. Room was fairly large and very clean but quite hot. We turned both the radiators off as soon as we arrived and left them off for our entire stay. Buffet breakfast had option to order cooked eggs. Caught the Airport Express bus (45kc each) from the airport to Nadrazi Holesovice, then one stop on the metro to Kobylisy (on line C to Ladvi). Come out of the station on the side with the trams, follow the road to the right and Ke Stirce is on the left. We used the trams the rest of the time. The hotel gave us 2 different tourist maps which proved invaluable - we never even used the unwieldy one that came with our guide book. This hotel was fab for a cheap city trip. The day we checked out, we left our suitcases at the hotel all day (til 6pm). If we come back to Prague, we would stay here again.

Pleasantly European The room was clean and well cared for. It was also fairly large for european standards. The reception is open 24 hours and helpful. If you want a safe, clean place to rest while spending time in Prague, this is a good buy.

recommended The Stirka was a nice hotel, clean, quiet and friendly. Even though the hotel was not in the centre of the city, the local metro station (Kobylisy) was only 200 metres away. It made it better that it was out of the city as it was very good at night for sleep. Recommended, with the price being good as well.
