"Large, clean rooms, and splendid view"
I'm not which hotels some of the previous travelers stayed at but unless this hotel has changed a lot in the past 3 years, it most certainly couldn't be the same hotel I stayed at!
First the room was huge, I was there with a friend and we had a double twin room...it was the biggest room we had through our entire trip to Italy. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and yes the view of the valley is amazing.
Dinner on the terrace overlooking the valley was splendid, couldn't be better setting and the breakfast room which was made of stones was interesting.
It is located right next to the church so very convenient.
As I said, I stayed there 3 years ago as part of a group and the hotel was VERY good...maybe it has changed a lot in the past 3 years, or maybe people expect a 300 year old building to be a modern Holiday Inn? Too bad for those people who can only like square boring building and cannot appreciate classic architecture.
I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat!

"location, location, location"
This is the perfect location in Assisi. Ask for a balcony overlooking the valley and have dinner in the restaurant at sunset. Sure the staff is not going to fawn over you. Face it if you're in Italy, especially in tourist season, you are just a pack of walking Euros to any Italian, that's life. Ignore it, recognize you're paying twice what everything is worth and enjoy it!
This hotel would be our only choice in Assisi and the town is really delightful after the buses have left and you have the quiet streets and gorgeous views to yourself!

"Simply stunning"
On opening the windows from our room, the view took my breath away, stunning landscape, beautiful old stone buildings, little walk ways through the town. Staying at the Subasio Hotel was definitely one of the top highlights to my first Insight tour of Italy. The room was quaint and old worldly which was the perfect setting in the surrounds. Dining under the grapevined terrace was superb and the staff were very friendly, even comical at times and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you to all at the Subasio Hotel, you have truely given me the most wonderful memories.
