"Good for a family"
Nice hotel also for a family at least if you can book the family room as we did! Family room had three rooms and even a small jacuzzi in the bathroom. Quiet and a peacefull place. Breakfast coffee unfortunately same poor powdered stuff you´ll get from your office coffee machine. Anyhow there´s a good cafe around the corner. Please be prepared to spend some 15-20 min in a bus on your way to the city centre. There is a separate bus lane to the city so rush hours are´nt normally an issue. Trattoria/ Pizzeria on the other side of the road with excellent pizzas (6 to 8 Eur)! Test also other meals.

"Great Hotel!"
I did not know what to expect from this hotel quite frankly, however I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is situated north of the city and all the sites are easily reached by use of public transportation. One bus with no transfers takes only 20mins to bring you into the heart of the city, or the Vatican. The hotel is nicely furnished and is in a quaint part of town with a very good restaurant within 2 blocks of the hotel. I paid under 100.00 per night in March and the hotel was a great value for the money. I would stay there again for sure!

"Sun's up on the Sunrise Hotel"
While planning our May/June 2006 trip to Italy, my wife and I extensively researched opinion sites, like this one, to assist in finding a good hotel. One that had good reviews was the Sunrise Hotel in Rome. The Sunrise is located in a small residential area. We saw no other hotels within a several block radius. The reviews listed everything about this hotel as excellent, except complaints about the location. One reviewer stated that if you don't have a car, this is not a suitable location. We DO NOT AGREE. The Sunrise is located at the end of a dead end street. The dead end decends via stairs to the small community business area, where we spent several of our evenings. This is a residential community. It felt safe day and night. We were not so concerned about pick pockets as we were in the tourist areas. We walked leisurely to bars (for lunch) pizzarias, nice restaurants, banks, groceries, boutiques, and every thing we needed. Since the area is NOT a tourist area, many of the business owners did NOT speak English, and we had only a small phrase book for Italian. Most appeared delighted to have us in their establishments and went out of their way to communicate, either slowly and patiently, by finding someone to interpret, or sign language, and always made us feel very welcome. The hotel room was excellent, a small boutique hotel, with a deck on the roof, and a full breakfast each morning (extensive by european standards). The staff was friendly, and helpful. As to location. We loved it. The staff recommended tours which picked us up at the hotel. We like to be independent, so most of the time we went on our own. The cost for a Taxi was only $10 (euros) to the Vatican, the Coliseum, less for the Trevi Fountain area. If you don't speak Italian, take a business card from the hotel and show it to the taxi driver. If you like to be a part of a communitywhen you travel, instead of simply observing one, we recommend this hotel without condition. By the way, get up early, go to the roof deck and watch the SUNRISE over Rome, it is a great way to start a day.
