This amiable two-star hotel which since newly rennovated, combines elemental comfort with price, is located in a lovely setting with Central Park just across the street. The Astor on the Park is in an area known as The Upper West Side which means that the hotel guest can rely on a variety of restaurants and shops at hand, plus one of the world’s most famous city parks just outside the door.

The Astor on the Park is nestled in a quieter residential part of upper Manhattan, in the fashionable Central Park West area. Columbus Circle is just down the street, Harlem is a short walk away, The Museum of Natural History, Columbia University, the, are all convenient to the hotel’s location. This hotel boasts 112 rooms, decorated in light colors and dark wood. some of which provide stunning views of the park and surroundings. The bathrooms are all newly appointed. The staff are reputed to be multi-lingual, and very helpful.

If you are a budget traveller just looking for a place to explore the city, then this is the place to stay and you can be assured to be within 3 blocks of a main subway station connecting to major lines within the city.
Of course being within view and only across the street is the enormous and beautiful Central Park, with it’s green open spaces perfect for a picnic, wide winding pathways and thoroughfares great for a stroll or a jog. Rent a romantic horse-drawn carriage and see the surrounding area of the park with a different view.
JFK and LaGuardia airports are within 45 and 30 minutes respectively.
Museums, the colorful Harlem neighborhood and the main shopping streets of Fifth avenue, Park Avenue and Broadway are all within a short distance of either walking through the park or talking a couple of minutes’ subway ride in order to reach them.

No fitness center in this boutique hotel, however Central Park can provide nice grounds for a quick jaunt.

There are no conference rooms available however the Jacob Javits Center is nearby. The hotel does provide a smallbusiness center.

Restaurant and Bars;
Tucked away downstairs is coffee service/kitchenette and snack machines to fill the traveller’s temporary void, but with so many options to choose from in the Big Apple, why not go outside and take a bite?
