"Five Star - Old World Charm"
Hotel is set up from the town a little, you could walk it in about 20 minutes but a taxi is only few dollars. The Hotel itself if amazing with all the charm you would expect from a hotel that Queen Elizabeth herself has stayed in!! The staff are friendly and efficent. The ski bus pulls up right out side the lower ground floor and is always reliable. There are shops and resturants on site with plenty of bars around and even an outdoor ice rink. All in all a fab hotel and would deffo stay there again.

"At Least Once !"
One of these hotels that you have to stay at least one time. Wonderful staff and the hotel being built in 1888 is in fantastic condition. The views are unbelievable from all parts of the hotel. Gondola ride there is a must! Room was decent size but bathroom was very very small. I could reach from wall to wall stretching out arms..lol. You just have to keep in mind when it was built. Warning! The town of Banff is completely under construction since the summer months are here and their trying to get what they can done before winter. All the shops on main st. are fenced in for safty and the sound of heavy construction equipment is nonstop and the air is very dusty.

"This hotel is incredible"
Just returned from the Fairmont Banff Springs. Can't say enough about this gem in paradise. Were there for our 25th anniversary. Mentioned this occasion to the hotel staff upon booking and upon arrival everyone on staff seemed to know. Were upgraded to a 2-room suite in the Manor Wing. Older, but really charming and cozy. The bath unfortunately had a plumbing leak.; hotel staff (actually the hotel manager) apologized profusely and offered yet another upgrade to a 2-room suite in the main tower. Just when we thought it couldn't get much better, the new room was even more incredible than the first. Restaurants and lounges are expensive, but the views of the mountains, streams and forests were priceless. All the staff we encountered were friendly, personable and most even knew our names. Bell staff made it easy to retrieve our car -- just call about 10 minutes beforehand and the car was waiting in front of the lobby. Tried to tip, but was refused with "all tips are included, sir!" This was without doubt one of the most enjoyable hotels we've ever experienced. The staff is obviously well-trained in customer service. They just seemed to care so much. Banff itself is a great destination. I can't believe that we've never been there before. We'll definitely return and stay again at the Banff Springs Hotel.
