"What a great hotel!"
I treated my friend who was staying with me from New York to a weekend at The Hempel as she was keen to experience London's Hip Hotel scene for herself particularly after she had heard Michael Jackson had stayed before Christmas. I must say we had a truly excellent stay and were treated like celebrities. The hotel is super cool - white walls, lots of candles and not in any way intimidating like I found many design hotels to be. I found the staff very helpful particularly Bernie who was on the front desk - he went out of his way in recommending restaurants, booking theatre tickets and evenmanaged to get us a table for lunch at The Ivy, This is a super cool hotel, with super cool staff.

"Hip and Cool"
I came across this fanastic hotel in London that is so under rated.
The service was above excellent - food exquisite, attention to detail second to none, and the atmosphere sexy and yet so tasteful.
I find it hard to say but this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to a return visit

"Wonderful World"
I stay here all the time and I feel as though I have to share my thoughts on this fantastic property.
I stay here on business all the time and on each occasion I am made to feel welcome from the moment I walk through the door.
On first name basis with many of the staff members I am still impressed to see how the service just keeps better and better.
Joel makes a mean cocktail, Juan always finds me a great place to eat in the evening and the breakfast crew helps to make a good start to my day.
My friends and work colleagues have also stayed and are also raving about the hotel to their family and friends.
Keep up the great work.

"What a place!!!!!"
I have just returned from a stay at the Hempel and what a wonderful place it is. I read the reviews on the hotel before my arrival and some I feel was not justified.
I was greeted at the door by a very polite gentleman who showed us through to the reception area. Greeted by huge smiles and a friendly greeting it was great to be in such a five star property.
The reception staff was very helpful, when asked of a good place to eat in the evening I was kindly offered their own restaurant, they provided a menu to look at, too good to be true we decided to reserve a table. Fantastic service & food in the restaurant, very friendly and helpful.
To end the perfect day we went to the bar for an after dinner drink, to my astonishment we was asked if we would like to take the drink in the garden, an opportunity not to be missed.
I will be recommending this to all my friends and family and I will definately be back.

"Super cool!"
Stayed in a deluxe non-smoking room for 1 night the 1st week of October 2006.
Gorgeous and apparently new décor. Modern, global contemporary style with really innovative doors and storage systems in the room. Bed was extremely comfortable and LCD TV was nice. More channels than other UK hotels we stayed in, but unfortunately, the pay-movie option was not working. Checked in 90 minutes early but only had to wait 20 minutes (which were relaxingly spent in the bar with great martinis) for our room to be ready.
Our room overlooked the courtyard which looked like a great place to have refreshments when weather permitted. Although it was rainy when we were there, it was nice to gaze at from the tub regardless.
As suggested, we made reservations to the hotel’s Thai restaurant and received a 20% discount. Returned to the bar for more pre-dinner martinis and found it to be lively. The restaurant had the same beautiful Asian/modern décor as well but for some reason was playing rat-pack 50’s lounge music. Expected something a little more serene or global chic for the music. Food was good, but unfortunately did not blow my socks off. We came back to our room to find that housekeeping tidied up and turned down our bed.
The only cons were the noise from the elevator and neighbors. I’m not sure whether it was because they put us in the room right next to the elevator and we just happen to be staying next to some rock stars or wannabes – not sure, but I awoke several times from the racket & music our neighbors kept making and unfortunately, was too tired to alert the manager.
We had to leave at the ungodly hour of 4am but the staff made all the necessary arrangements and the cab was ready and waiting by the time we got downstairs.
All in all, I think the Hempel is a wonderful hotel. Price is on the steep side, but I believe they delivered: the rooms were clean, comfortable and gorgeously decorated; staff was efficient and friendly; and last but not least - great drinks. It was our last night and London and we were more than content to stay inside.

"Can't wait for my next trip"
Well I was pleasantly surprised when my firm said i'd have to attend a conference in London, and even more delighted that I'd be staying at The Hempel. A friend of mine had stayed there earlier this year and was still going on about the Shrimp tempura.
I arrived to a picture perfect lobby with attentive staff who greeted me at the door of my taxi.
Minimalistic heaven with clean lines and the prettiest orchids. It's obvious that they pride themselves on appearance not only with their design but the staff looked fresh off a catwalk.
My room wasn't ready when I arrived, although I was offered a cup of tea while I waited. Feeling like royalty I was soon escorted to my room by a very helpful porter who gave me great tips on places to visit and shop while I was in town. They really know their stuff here. My room was more comfortable than It looked and i was a little disappoined that I couldn't purchase one of the beds to take home, my husband would've loved it.
Our conference ran over so I was a little disappointed that we had decided to eat at a restaurant in Chelsea, when I got back to the hotel I was charmed by the manager who unusually was in reception greeting guests in the busy lobby. He told me about the changes to their bar and invited me for the best cosmo i've ever had!!. Really friendly guy we got talking about my trip and I told him about the reviews I'd heard about the food. Before I left the bar to go up and get some rest a waited brought me a plate of Shrimp tempura, complementary from the hotels manager. Amazing!! and I can't wait to come back with my girlfriends.

"Vast improvement"
Stayed here after a poor visit previosuly about 2 years ago. was invited back by the new management. After much thought, I am so glad I returned and what a difference! Really did enjoy myself, and spoke to another couple who also felt the same. The ambience is much warmer, the staff friendlier and they actually 'do' help which is rare nowadays especially in London.
My room was good, although i also hear that improvements are planned here too next year which is great to hear. The ground floor areas are now so welcoming and relaxing. The drinks were just perfect with really attentive staff.
I-Thai has improved more than one could expect. The food is fantastic, so much I wanted to try but couldn't and that is always the best sign.
Even though I was invited back to see the new improvements, I was very dubious and not sure if it was worth it....fortunately, it is very true that a leopard can change its spots. I will definitely return and won't need to be invited next time!

"Birthday at the Hempel - Highly reccommended"
One of my friends surprised me recently with a birthday stay at the Hempel - what a wonderful gift it was! From stepping out of the taxi to check out at the end of my stay, service was totally efficient and the staff helpful and warm. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, even helping out in a semi-emergency when my new dress bought for the occasion ripped at the seam, a member of housekeeping was quickly dispatched to my room to help - what a saviour! A feeling of 'Zen' is felt from the moment you walk in to the calming reception which has splashes of rich colour to compliment the simplicity of its design.
Do try I-Thai too. An interesting fusion menu is served by knowledgeable waiting staff who all seemed to know it was my birthday too! I hear they have one of the best sushi chefs in London so my friends and I put this to the test and were very impressed.
The Hempel is very close to central London and was just a ten minute journey in a cab from Victoria.
I would highly recommend this hotel. I have stayed in a number of other luxury hotels in London and this has been my favourite by far.

"An amazing place!!"
From the moment you walk in the door The Hempel just does not stop giving the wow factor. My husband and I stayed for 1 night with dinner in the fabulous I-Thai restaurant. The food was to die for, service spot on and the ambience lovely and romantic with all the candles everywhere and the lighting perfect for that special evening away.
Girls if you want a treat from your man, this is the place to go!!!
