The Holt Hotel is a beautifully refurbished traditional coaching inn dating back to the 15th century with all the comforts of a modern hotel. Nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds in picturesque Oxfordshire, ideally situated close to the M40 and to many local attractions such as the city of Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bicester Designer Outlet Shopping Village.

Serving the warmest hospitality since 1475, from its early days as a coaching inn, the Holt has been one of the most popular hotels in Oxfordshire and not always with the most honourable clientele. Notorious highwayman Claude Du Vall often frequented the inn, spending his ill-gotten gains from the road, and is said to haunt the hotel to this day.

With accomodation varying from single rooms to four-poster bedrooms with Jacuzzi, The Holt Hotel's facilities will satisfy the most demanding traveller. An enviable reputation for it's conferences and seminars in a choice of seven suites, all with natural daylight and a range of overnight packages, you may rest assured that the hotel staff knows what they're doing. Weddings are a delight at The Holt Hotel and with a licence to hold civil ceremonies the expertise and experience will guide you through your special day.
LOCATION

The Holt Hotel is located midway between Oxford and Banbury on the main A4260 road. This is 24 kilometers from Oxford and 16 kilometers from Banbury. The nearest local train station is 1.5 kilometer away at Heyford - there are 6 trains every day and these connect with either Oxford or Banbury.

Over the Summer, my family and I decided to head out into the country for a long weekend to get away from the city for a while. I heard of this Hotel through a few colleagues of mine who attended a conference here and they reccomended the Holt for its cosy atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. Even though we only spent 3 nights we all thouroughly enjoyed ourselves: every morning we had a very filling english breakfast and a really excellent meal at night - when we returned from our daytime excursions. There are quite a few lovely place to visit nearby the Holt. We spent a day at the shopping outlet, Bicester, a day at Blenheim Palace and another day at around Oxford City. These places were quite close to the hotel and we found that they were easily accessible. We had a perfect stay for three reasons: 1/ The hotel itself was in a very beautiful spot surrounded by the nice country-side scenery 2/ The staff very courteous and made you feel comfortable and 3/It wasnt too expensive. Overall a great place to stay with no complaints. P.S. If you go do NOT forget to have at least one meal at Du Vall's Resturant in the Hotel.
