"Great Place, Great People, Great Vacation"
I had an excellent time at this resort. My husband and I went for our first anniversary. From the very second we got off the bus from the airport to heading back home, The Mill Staff was 110%! We were given the incorrect room at first, the one with the jacuzzi, and would have taken it but we were on a semi-budgeted trip so we wanted the kitchen room that we requested. Was not a problem at all, took two seconds to get a different room.
The pool was really nice and so was the bar. I won $20 off a dinner the first night at the bar playing musical chairs! It is so family friendly at this resort as well. I think my husband and I were one of the "just couples" at the resort. Which was just fine for us, we love kids so not an issue!
The beach really is not that far, and is gorgeous. As many other posters have said, 4 minutes tops. . I found the towel hut on the beach to be very easy to find. Also the road to cross to get to the beach is not that busy at all. We never had a problem crossing the road. Also if you need to take a bus in town the bus stop is about three minutes away. You will see the bus stop right before you head over to the beach. If you need to go grocery shopping, you will need to take a taxi or bus. I suggest taking the bus to the grocery and then a taxi back to the hotel unless you get on one of the bigger busses then it shouldn’t be an issue with all your bags.
The food at the Garden Cafe was great. My husband and I had dinner there twice. Since I won $20 off a dinner the first night, we ate there our second night and then the second time was our last night. It was so plentiful and delicious. The tourist menu is really a great deal. $12.50 per plate plus 15% service. And the servers were very polite.
I would definitely go back to The Mill in a heartbeat. |

"Amazing!!! A+++"
We just left The Mill, and miss it greatly. The staff was great, and always willing to help with any demands. The room we had (201 C), a Jacuzzi suite, was always clean and well kept. The walk to the beach was only 5 minutes away, and the towel shack guy was always there and helpful. There are buses that can take you around the Island which only cost 2 dollars round trip. We went on several trips from Depalm. The depalm Island trip was excellent!!! It was all inclusive and very private and well kept (p.s There is a 10 dollars off coupon in the little switzerland welcoming packet at the airport). We also went on the natural pool safari ( you are guaranteed to get dirty), the trip was ok, only was able to swim at the pool for 25 minutes. The stores around the hotel area are very pricey, especially the sodas. There are several supermarkets downtown that are a lot cheaper. The price to the hotel is 20 dollars from the Airport. I would stay at The Mill once again on my next visit to Aruba.
A++++
p.s. The breakfast was free in our package, and the food was always fresh.

"Highly recommend!"
My family just returned from a 5 night stay at the mill resort in Aruba. The island in itself was beautiful, the weather was hot but there was a constant breeze blowing that was refreshing and welcoming. Also, we had very few problems with mosquitoes or other menacing bugs/creatures. Checking into the mill was fast and easy and the staff were very accommodating to our needs, giving us a room that was quiet. I had the opportunity to see the various suites and found them all clean and roomy. Our suite had a balcony, which I highy recommend since it enabled us to have meals and relaxation time outside of the confines of our room. The staff was very pleasant and cheery and I had no problems with safety (our in-room safe was useful and security is constantly visible at all hours). The location of this resort is ideal. It really is a few minutes walk from many things including the bird sanctuary, butterfly farm, beach, casinos and restaurants. Since the resort had kitchens in the room we had packed food to make there, but if i went again I would just buy items there as they are reasonably priced in the resort store and kind of bulky to bring. The room had everything, iron, pots, pans, cutlery etc...all clean. (Bring your own dishwashing liquid and sponge!). We ate breakfast in the restaurant once and it was o.k. (didn't get the chance to try the BBQ) They have a live show friday nights. My only complaints were (a) that the toilet was not in the best condition, they should consider replacing the seats and (b) there was no explaination concerning the charges on the phone which led to us being charged an additional $40. Travellers beware, everytime you place a call, whether you are connected or not you are charged (locally and long distance! this can add up!!). It was suggested upon our checking out that we buy calling cards and use the phones in the lobby, which was a little late for the advice. Other than this, our stay was wonderful and I would definately return to aruba and the Mill.

"Better than expected"
I had a great experience staying at this hotel. The studio suite had everything I needed (with the exception of consumables, such as soap, a sponge, etc.) It had a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and spoke english well. The only issue I had was the bed was not very comfortable. Very stiff. Other than that, I had a great time!
