The hotel, with its futuristic lines, is an alliance of glass and steel, It is ideally located in downtown Montpellier, 500 meters from the TGV ( high-speed train ) station and 10 minutes from Montpellier international airport.

The Pullman Montpellier Antigone is within 1 km of Place de la Comedie, Musee Fabre, and Opera. It is also within 10 km of Musee Languedocien.

The Best Dinner
Wife and I stayed here for two nights in July 2006. We ate outside the hotel the first night and paid 100 Euros for a so-so meal at a Brassiere. The second evening, after an exhausting side trip to Nimes and Cavissons during a very hot day, we simply did not have the energy to go out again in the evening's heat and walk around to find another restaurant. Instead we had dinner poolside on the top of the hotel and it was marvelous in all regards - well prepared, great presentation, and delicious - and was well worth the 100 Euro including our several cocktails. I'm sure Montpellier has many great restuarants but we unhesitantly recommend you have at least one of your dinners under the stars at the pool or in the adjacent dining room. Likewise, the Sofitel's breakfast was superb. Overall, it was a wonderful stay: service from the front desk and dining room staffs had a "can do, no problem" approach to our requests; the rooms were quiet and clean; and location was a short walk to the main shopping areas. If we visit Montpellier again, I will certainly stay at the Sofitel again. Perhaps, next time I'll try the sauna and will bring a suit for the pool.

"Excellent Stay in Montpellier"
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. We opted for a deluxe room as we were staying for more than one night, and it was spacious with a great shower. The hotel is situated at the edge of the city centre (a 5-10 minute walk to the Place Comedie). Approaching the hotel by car is very tricky, but once you reach the door, the concierge will take over and all is good. We really enjoyed Montpellier and the Sofitel was a great home base to see the city.

I stayed in Sofitel Antigone in June 2005 for 5 days. It is a very good hotel, especially the rooftop swimmingpool area was great! I had a privilege room, which was really nice, it was beautiful and clean with nice decor and a lovely big bathroom.

"Excellent as always"
I have stayed in this hotel 4 times and each stay has been excellent. The staff is charming and most helpful. The rooms are very comfortable if small. I have stayed in both Superior (standard) and Deluxe ( privilege) rooms. Both room categories are exactly the same size and layout. Deluxe rooms have the following extra amenities: Flat screen tv Robes and slippers More bath products Philipe Stark bath fixtures Crown molding and more room decorations free access to pool and fitness center top two floors with restricted elevator access The deluxe rooms have the Sofitel MyBed and I am not sure if the superior rooms do or not as I have stayed in a deluxe room the last two times I stayed. The location of the hotel is an easy walk from the train station. When you exit the station turn to your right and follow the tram line which will lead you right by the hotel. The tram line will take a hard right and start down a hill. The hotel will be on your left as you go down the hill. If you are really loaded you can board the tram in front of the train station and take it one stop which cuts the walking distance in half. Driving is a bit tricky as you need to park in the Polygone P4 parking. Look for the small brown signs that direct you to the various hotels. This will lead you to the parking. The hotel has direct access to the parking lot and will validate your ticket for you at a reduced rate. The hotel also offers easy access to the historic center of Montpellier with the Place de la Comedie only a few minutes walk away. The Sofitel MyBeds are extremely comfortable. The rooms feel upscale and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is very good and, being on the top floor, offers nice views of the city. The exterior of the hotel is basically a bland glass cube from the early 80's. Dont be put off by this as the hotel was completely renovated in 2002. Check out my photos which are of a deluxe room.
