Hotel Information
A super boutique hotel...

Fifteen years ago this hotel was one of the best known places to see and be seen. Very ‘in’ and hip, so how can the Morgans Hotel Group raise the standards? How, is a good question. Today it has become an epitome of it’s former self and it’s walls and spaces have transformed themselves into living sculpture. It could very well again be the hotspot in Midtown Manhattan.

This hotel comes with a great reputation through the years, breaking ground for that special niche of a hotel, with it’s good-looking friendly staff, helpful service coupled with a hip and innventively lavish atmosphere that takes one’s breath away. Walk in the grandiose block-long lobby, through the impressive front door, then just meander around all of the wooden columns, check out the enormous fireplace, see highly sophisticated and smart decor done in rich leathers, different shining metals, warm wood tones, married together, all casting an opulent and romantic feeling.
The Royalton is located in mid-town Manhattan, right off of Times Square. In every direction is something for everyone with it’s shopping, theatres, and various landmark attractions such as the Empire State building.

Fitness Center,

Conference Rooms;
There are conference spaces located on the Mezzanine level and second floor, in total, making up seven meeting rooms and four studio-sized rooms perfect for that smaller meeting, along with a 880 square foot Gathering place. For the really big show, at 2300 square feet, the Great Room has been lovingly restored to its 1911 original Beaux Arts decor.

Restaurant and Bars;

Olives
A famed Chef Todd English restaurant venture together with W at Union Square. Wonderful blend of old and new decor with an oriental twist, together with an open kitchen, a fireplace, and a lively bar.
The menu puts a pleasing spin on mainly the Italian and Mediterranean cuisines. Open dining daily starting at 7.00 a.m.

Underbar
Rande Gerber’s brainchild and literally underground, in the basement level of the hotel. Dark and totally swanky, sit in the main room and be the party or hide away in a little private alclove and have a party. Note a dress code is imposed. Open until 2 a.m and until 4 a.m. on friday and Saturday. Serving only alcohol.

Living room
A very popular New York idea, taking the bar to the hotel lobby. With the given name, it denotes more of a lounge feeling. Read quietly, or watch life pass by the square. Drink a cocktail, have a coffee, play a game, discuss the weather. Open until midnight.

The Royalton offers valet parking, price is not included in room rate, a business center for the discerting work-related trip, high speed wireless internet. This hotel is very child friendly as well, offering welcoming gifts on arrival as well as coloring books and board games for the younger set.

"Enjoyable stay!"
My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel from 21-24th March 07. We found the staff very friendly, everyone spoke English, they were very helpful in giving us details about the metro etc. The metro across the road was brilliant, we could get all across the city easily. Best to buy a 3 day metro pass rather than paying per journey, saved lots of money this way, and got right back to CDG airport using the metro which saved us a fortune (taxi from airport to hotel was 75euro). The room itself was quite basic, but had everything we need and we were happy with it. If you're looking for excellent accomodation then this wouldn't be the place for you, but if you're looking for a comfortable base from which to explore the city, then I would definitely recommend the Yllen Eiffel.

"take advantage of the neighborhood"
Others have done a great job of accurately describing the hotel and its virtues. I just wanted to add that the breakfast is sumptuous and well worth it. True, the scrambled eggs are watery, but the variety of items (including bacon, sausage, ham, cold European cereals, pastries, juices, cheeses) is quite impressive and well worth it--especially by Parisian standards and costs. Restaurants in Paris gouge you. Even the Speed Rabbit pizza joint across the street charges $20 for a small, uninspired pizza. Be wise and avoid the restaurants and bring back neighborhood food to the room. If you can't be bothered piecing a meal together from the various wonderful neighborhood shops, a safe and relatively inexpensive place for one-stop, take-out food shopping is the Monoprix about 2 blocks away, with its wonderful breads, rolls and pastries, lunch meats, quiches, salads, and inexpensive wines. The front desk can direct you. They all speak English.

"Comfortable & convenient"
The Yllen Eiffel is a nice, comfortable 3* hotel, We enjoyed our three night stay here very much - while not a luxurious place, the staff were very friendly, the room was quite large (for Paris!) and had all the necessary amenities - tv, haidryer, minibar. Also had a very big bed! The only (slight) problem we had was the way the bathroom was designed so you couldn't really stand up in the shower as the ceiling sloped down over the bath! It was a very nicely decorated bathroom though and as we don't mind taking baths this didn't bother us too much! Another minor annoyance was the breakfast, which was not included in our room rate but we tried it anyway - cost 12 euros. Don't bother!! It was in a tiny cramped little room, staff were rude here and rushed off their feet, there was a queue of people crammed in the corner waiting to be seated and the food was average. Go to the boulangerie opposite instead - it has delicious croissants and pastries for a lot less money!! Finally the best thing about this hotel, and probably the factor which would most influence me to stay here again, is its proximity to the metro station - it is literally opposite the hotel, and fantastic for getting around on. We got three day metro passes (good value for money) and got to see a lot of the city this way. Very nice at the end of a long day to be brought back to your front door and not to have a long walk!
