"The Sutton Place Hotel was pleasant"
The Sutton Place Hotel was pleasant. The staff were all nice and were also helpful. The location is close to Yorkville and both the Younge and University subway lines. The hotel is comparable to other 4 star hotels in Toronto.
The pool area is a little dated and the patio furniture is cheap but we did not stay here to use the pool.

"loved this hotel!"
We stayed here for three nights for a conference after two nights at the Sheraton (one at the towne center, where the tub didn't drain and another at the airport). The Sutton place was fantastic. The rooms are beautiful - really large, with good light, done up in cream with blue curtains and marble/granite tables and a dresser. The staff is extremely helpful - from printing something for me when the business center was closed to helping us find a cab when the subway system suddenly broke during rush hour.
The only thing I have against the hotel is that the internet is wireless and can only be connected to one computer/code. This likely won't be much of a problem for anyone other than myself because there were two people attending a conference in our room.
The breakfast room service was a really good value compared to other hotels in the area, as well as the room service in general. We had a great time and would love to stay at the Sutton Place again if we are in Toronto.

"The Sutton was perfect to us"
We stayed at the Sutton for a week in June 2007. It was one of the best hotels we have ever visited. We found the staff universally pleasant, helpful and professional.
We arrived at a very busy time. The door staff was contending with a large crowd and apologized constantly for keeping us waiting - which was hardly any time at all! The room we booked with a kitchen and balcony wasn't ready. Yet the young woman at the desk (Vida?) patiently worked with Housekeeping to quickly find us a room matching our criteria.
The room was fantastic: a huge comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen, living room, dining area. enormous separate bedroom and tons of closets. The bed was one of the best our busted up bodies have slept in. We also had our balcony from which to enjoy a week of absolutely beautiful sunrises.
The food from Room Service was very good and delivered quickly by friendly people. The Housekeepers on our floor were always helpful and extremely courteous.
The location is perfect. Museums, downtown, Kensington Market -- we walked to everything. Nonetheless, cabs, buses and subways are close. When we needed directions to Niagara Falls, the friendly staff gave us a sheet with perfect directions.
My wife and I are hard working family people. When we travel we look for comfort and warmth, both in the hotel and the staff. We found both at the Toronto Sutton.
We plan to visit Montreal next . If Sutton had a location there, we'd book it!
