Good value but be patient
The ample suites were clean and spacious. Be prepared to have spotty Internet access. Sometime the attendants don't speak English. It's a good deal when the price is right. Good location for Arlington, particularly when you take advantage of their shuttle to Metro.

"Spacious"
This is the only way to see Washington DC. The Virginia Suites are huge and include a kitchen that truly is totally equiped. There is a large comfortable L-shaped living room/ dining room, a separate bedroom and a small, but very functional kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with paper towels, dish cloths, a dishwasher and detergents. On site parking was only $7/ day---a real bargain in this area. The location is ideal. From the Virginia Suites you can see the Iwo Jima Memorial and look across the Potomac at the Washington Monument. During the week, a complimentary shuttle connects to the Rosslyn Metro, but it is only a ten minute or so walk to the station. In another 10 minutes, you can cross the Key Bridge into Georgetown. From the Rosslyn Metro station, $1.35 gets you to the Smithsonian Mall. Our only "complaint" was that the bathrooms were rather small and could have used an updating, but that was a minor point considering all the positives.

"Great place with kids"
This is a great place to stay with kids and tour DC. It is spacious and clost to train station to get anywhere in DC. Don't stay here looking for luxury or a couples "get away" They have renovated but still has some flaws. We had mold in the closet and they offered to move us to a different room, we had plenty of other space to use so we opted to stay and not use the closet. I would stay there again and I wish they had more hotels set up like that around the country.

"Like an apartment-Convenient location"
I found Virginian Suites while booking a last minute weekend getaway. Upon arriving they didn't have my reservation (which I made the night before), but I had a copy of my confirmation and they honored the price of $109 per night for the weekend - an awesome price considering DC rates. A $7 parking fee was posted on the internet, but not charged. The room was like an apartment. There was a kitchen, complete with stove and microwave; a living and dining room, bedroom and bath. It was clean and the hotel staff was friendly. Washington DC is only a short drive away and the hotel location is very convenient. If your the type of traveler who wants a freshly painted room and is offended by a little dust on the exhaust vent - I'd move on. But - If your the type of traveler who likes a nice room in a great location for a decent price, this room is for you.
