"Can't believe some of these reviews!!!" Contrary to some of the reviews, I found this hotel to be fine. I have stayed here twice since the start of 2006 and enjoyed both visits. OK the hotel is nothing special to look at from the outside but it is clean, comfortable and the service is good. Reception were helpful and pleasant, room service was of good standard and prompt, rooms were cleaned well each morning. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the Bullring and New Street Station. A taxi from the airport will cost you about £25, depending on taxi driver. Cheaper alternative is to get the train from BHX at £2.80 single - then walk the rest. Back to the hotel - The breakfast is buffet and could not be faulted. Good selection of scramble egg/fried egg/sausage/bacon/hash brown/tomato/mushrooms/beans, fruit, toast. yoghurts, juices etc.... great! Loved the dining room with the hot-air balloon theme. The rooms have sky tv, pay movies, reasonably comfortable bed (although the pillows are a bit hard!), tea/coffee/biscuits, trouser press, hair dryer, safe. Bathrooms are a little bit rough round the edges but perfectly fine. Towels, gels, soaps all supplied. Plenty of information at reception and they were happy to keep our bags when we checked out at midday for a late flight home. There's also a bar with pool table, widescreen tv....... what more could you want?!!!!
