Simple and chic designer hotel near beach...

Conceived as a cool, fun, and fresh retreat by owner Jonathan Morr, Townhouse Hotel offers a playful combination of modern design and old-fashioned comfort.

Built in 1939, the 69-room five-story building has been creatively redefined by young Paris-based designer India Mahdavi, whose minimalist furnishings provide maximum relaxation and leisure. The hallways have been re-invented with equal flippancy, serving as hangout environments soundtracked in stereo, stocked with benches, newspapers, and comics.
LOCATION

Townhouse Hotel is a half-block from the beach at the northern end of the Art Deco District, this carefully designed hotel offers spare, all-white public spaces and fun for less cash.
PROPERTY AMENITIES

* Continental breakfast is provided each morning. The Parisian-style breakfast includes croissants, baguettes, espresso, and hard-boiled eggs. Guests help themselves in a tiny kitchen equipped with espresso machine and appliances. After breakfast, American coffee is available all day in the kitchen.

* Bond St. Lounge:
The hotel’s basement restaurant—a Miami outpost of Manhattan’s sleek sushi spot—is a minimalist, moody hideaway serving artful Japanese cuisine. A sushi table seats 12, and diners also settle into oversized chairs or huddle around a communal table to sample sake from an extensive list.

* The rooftop terrace has teak patio furniture and queen-size waterbeds for lounging. During the day, the glass water tower is a cave into which sunbathers venture to wet their feet in a shallow pool and sit on benches misted by a small waterfall. The hotel also has a few bicycles that can be rented. Instead of a fitness center, individual work-out bikes and StairMasters are tucked at the end of floor hallways.
ROOM AMENITIES

* The guest rooms offer another fun, unique take on relaxation, utilizing a minimum of furniture for maximum leisure. Oversized baby blue pillows adorn each bed, complementing giant round poufs and rugs in scarlet and baby blue. L-shaped couches and the oversized poufs could double as crash pads for overnight guests, who aren't charged for their stay. Sexy lampshades in flowered cardinal red match old-timey fire engine red telephones with modern features like voice mail, data ports and high-speed internet. Each room also contains a flat screen TV, VCR, fridge and safe.

"Nice, Clean Boutique Hotel"
My experience at the TownHouse Hotel was a pleasant one. Cute Hotel, near the beach, shopping, and excitement of South Beach. The Hotel was extremely clean. Room was nice size with minimal decorations. The wood floors carry noise very easily to the point were you can hear everytime the people above you walk. Good Price, Good Location, Nice Room. Needs a bigger bathroom with more room in the shower and more counter space to lay out your make-up and tolietries. I enjoyed my stay at the TownHouse Hotel and would return.

"loved the Townhouse"
A local friend found us the Townhouse for our annual weeklong stay in South Beach. It's sparkling clean, light and airy, the staff are delightful, continental breakfasts are first rate (real espresso, cappucino and croissants)and it's in walking distance to everything. Hi tech sleek but not overboard. We've already reserved for January 2007. I just hope the gargantuan Setai doesn't swallow them up, as it did the wonderful Abbey Hotel (which is now office quarters and staff cafeteria).

"Bondst has the best sushi ever"
I stayed for a couple nights @ townhouse, rooms are cozy and nice, great location, interesting deco.... friday night is perfect to go to BONDST. the sushi there is just fabolous, very fresh toro, excelent sushi and sake recomendations from our waiter willie, we'll definitelly be back, at least downstairs. rooftop was full of cuties, the spot is nice. )
