"Lovely hotel"
Great hotel on nice beach. Restaurants serve great food (very large portions!!). All staff are very friendly and helpful apart from the guy at the beach bar. Plenty to do , however beware most things are not included and you have too pay extra on top of the already high room rate. There is a resort amenity fee per day to cover towels parking and cabanas. the kids club is extra and expensive and the slide is extra and expensive. food and drink is reasonably priced.
Make sure you book a balcony or terrace as some rooms don;t have them which we found very disapointing and as hotel was fulll we couldn't upgrade.

"Couldn't Have Been Better!!!!!"
My husband and I took our 4-year old on a much-needed vacation for all of us. We had a blast and the Tradewinds was just what we expected based on some of the other reviews!!! Our room wasn't available when we arrived at 1:00, but we were able to use the pools and beach cabanas anyways. They called our cell phone at 3:00 to tell us our room was ready. We had a beautiful view of the ocean (I had asked the desk agent to get us the best possible view and she did - top floor as close to the end of the building as possible.) Our building was close to parking, the pools, the beach, everything. We took the advice from others on this site and purchased food from the nearby Publix store and ate often in our room because of the utensils and bowls, etc. they have available in the rooms. We did eat at the pizza hut and the ice cream shop there. We were already aware that the drinks were WAY overpriced, so we only had the one. $10.50 for a frozen daquiri - ouch! But being prepared for that, we just kept our own in our room. All of the employees were very very friendly, the room was clean and just as described. We didn't have a crowd at all at the hotel. We went from June 19th-through 22nd. Maybe it was because it was during the week, but we really had no trouble with parking, crowds, anything. Captain Redbeard was great with the kids there and be sure to check the activities schedules. They have different things every day. My son loved making the beads and the sharktooth necklaces, and the build a buddy - which was like build a bear. It's better than wasting money on souvenirs. At least he'll remember these were things he made. We at at Skidders across the street and the prices at Subway, etc. are all the same as at home, so we really saved there. All in all the resort was just perfect and so were the people who stayed there, which is often what can make or break a vacation. Very nice clientele. A ton of families. Be sure to try out the paddleboats!!! We loved those!!! Only one tiny complaint I would have is that the elevators are very hot. There is no a/c in them and it makes for a very uncomfortable experience. But the rest of resort makes up for it!!! We hope to go back to Tradewinds every year!!!
