"Christmas Magic" I was set to hammer this hotel. The GPS system I rented with my rental car took me to the hotel, but through several back, residential roads. It is on top of a hill and ensure you have great directions or a GPS if you stay here. After my 6 hour drive, I wasn't too pleased with reception at front desk. I then went to the room which was on the top floor and kind of small. Bathroom was kind of old and could use some new grout. Things changed when I got up early the next morning. Night guy behind the desk was very helpful and gave me a good map of Vienna. The hotel itself is really beautiful both inside and out. The breakfast area is a fantastic dining room suitable for an 18th century manor house. Breakfast was very good and the staff was great. The place was beautiful at night with beautiful Chistmas lights and an outdoor skating rink and Christmas market behind the hotel. The night time view of Vienna is spectacular. Bus stop is right in front of the hotel and it takes about 10 minutes to get you to the underground station. It is a 15 minute subway ride to central Vienna. Gotta take the good with the bad when you stay here. Don't expect a fantastic room, but you won't get one for the less than $100 I paid anywhere in Vienna. The manor house aspect, food, and the view make for a kind of special stay. Dinner at the hotel was good and not too pricey.

"Cant beat the view" My wife and i had the start of our honeymoon here, and it was fantastic, the staff, the maids, and the restaurant people went out of there way to help us, the front desk guys were also very friendly and sold us the 72 hour vienna card, which came in very handy. To get to downtown it was a very easy bus ride to the ottorink metro stop, where the metro started its run, 4 stops later, your right in the heart of vienna. You can catch either direction bus from the Schloss to get down to the metro, so it doesnt matter which bus you take, just hop on the first one that comes, and they come every 15 minutes. There were walking trails outside the Schloss, and at our time frame there, they had there little christmas market set up with ice rink. The rooms were very quiet, and we didnt hear any hall noises, or neighbors. The room itself was fairly large for european standards, and the beds were comfy, the water was very hot and lasted, The breakfast buffett which was included, was outstanding, and had a very large selection of hot and cold foods, and fruits. If your prone to only using hand soaps though, better bring your own, as they have only the pump liquid soaps in the bath. The view was truly amazing, covering all of vienna, All in all we had no problems and would recommend this hotel to any of our friends and family.
