"I'd come back here!"
The Madrid Tryp Atocha was a great place to stay! We stayed four nights in hot July weather and had a wonderful time. Our room was very large and comfortable, with air conditioning and also several windows. It was on the third floor and we had no noise problems whatsoever.
The staff was very accommodating and were able to answer all our questions about the area, and helped us book an excursion to Toledo as well. I was pleased that the hotel was in such a convenient spot, and the metro entrance is literally a few feet from the front door. We were able to access all areas of Madrid conveniently from this location. In addition to room service, they offer a tele pizza menu with chicken and ice cream, and they will deliver it right to the hotel! Oh, there is a bakery two doors up from the hotel, and a minisuper with everything you could need, including ice, about a three minute walk downhill and across the street from the hotel.
Unfortunately, my daughter's wallet was stolen while we were out the second day after we arrived. I just wanted to let the front desk know in case anyone contacted the hotel, since there was an itinerary in the wallet. When the staff heard about it, they treated us with such kindness and offered to help find numbers to report stolen cards (but we already knew how to do that).
The hotel offers a computer with Internet for a very small fee. It was very useful. One day while I was using it, a large extended family (multi generations) came to sit on the many comfortable couches and easy chairs in the stylish lounge. They were holding several very loud conversations and seemed oblivious to the fact that I was in the room first, and that I was using a computer. I was shocked at this, since I have never seen a large family talk that loud even in an outdoor park, much less indoors in an area being used by someone else! But I wouldn't blame the hotel staff for the impolite behavior of those adults. There were sometimes teenagers in the lobbies (some sort of group maybe), yet they were very well behaved and not loud at all. So I guess it just depends on whether other guests are polite or not. It's a shame some make it a bad experience for others.
I think this is a wonderful hotel and we enjoyed our stay here very much.

"It was fantastic and people helpfull"
We stayed in a standar Room with breakfast as an optional extra (for a charge of course). This room really was as described in the literature just a nice quiet place to be. The staff made you feel right at home here.
Other great touches- a pillow menu, minibar, TV (family friendly channels), mood lighting.
Great ! ! !

"Great Hotel in best location"
A 5 minute walk from the Rail Train Station you have to this new hotel at the top end Street Atocha. In front a Big Peep show, but clean an funny. The decor may be classed as 'historic' on the website but its not at all old fashioned or chintzy. " clasicon".
The reception staff are friendly and helpful and carried out little tasks such as charging a run down mobile phone.
The main lobbly is also brilliantly stylish with loads of seating.
Rooms are something else and everything is high quality.
Coffees and teas were provided but if you want hot water and milk you have to ring room service. You do get a silver flask full of hot water with silver jug of milk within about 5 minutes. Oscar is Great ! ! !
We did not take breakfast in the hotel, is quite expensive if you eat small breakfasts but all around are great cafes where you can get a perfectly adequate one for under 5 €.
The bar, like many hotel bars was quiet and two whiskies came to €14 - not excessive bearing in mind the quantity you get in Spanish establishments.
Nice stay, tnaks ! ! !
