"Perfect location Clean hotel and Helpful Staff" I went on my stag do to Madrid and had read all the reviews on here and was quite worried. When we arrived at the hotel the staff were helpful and checked us in quickly even recommending a local bar for us to go to. Yes some of the rooms had a funny smell but you dont notice it after being in there for 5 minutes, the rooms were tidied and cleaned very well daily the bathrooms being very impressive with excellent pressure and enough hot water to have a 30 minute shower if you want. There is a minibar in your room but there are vending machines that are cheap and sell everything available in your minibar on the 1st floor and there are nice supermarkets close by. We were staying on a B&B basis and the breakfast was excellent with all kinds of continental cheeses and meats as well as scrambled eggs, toast, croissants and a selection of juices including freshly squeezed orange juice at no extra cost. The hotel is next to the red light district which is 24 hour but you dont get any hassle at all and it appears to be a normal accepted way of life. The metro is also just outside the hotel and is simple to use and cost 1 euro for a one-way trip anywhere in Madrid and puts the london underground to shame with its cost, cleanliness and efficiency. Taxi's are very cheap also and its handy to keep business cards for where you want to go. It is a 3 star hotel and dont see what peoples problem with it is to be honest!.

"Comfortable & Convenient" Right in the city centre, with this hotel you get what you pay for. Yes, in summer, it is hot. So is every hotel in Madrid (I travel to this city every year, at least twice in anything from 2 to 5*). Yes, Gran Via street is noisy (it is the nightlife that makes Spain famous!) but the hotel is very convenient for sightseeing, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfasts are excellent.

"Cozy hotel" I liked staying in this hotel, although the quite small room was facing inner yard roof. I read in other posters that AC was not working at night, but in our room it was cooling so much, that I took a blanket from cupboard at night. The breakfast was very good and tasty with great variety. The hotel is only couple of steps from Gran Via metro station, centrally located. Tourist attractions are within walking distance. Reception staff marked on the map places to see, so we managed during one evening to see most of beautiful Madrid. I would give it 4 star rank for service and location.

"Love Madrid" I have just returned from a trip to Spail (Madrid and Barcelona). In Madrid, I stayed at the Tryp Gran Via Hotel. My experience was excellent. The location of this Hotel is in the Upper site of Gran Vìa Avenue, very near Alcalà St. and Plaza La Cibeles. You can walk to Museo del Prado and to Puerta del Sol. Besides de Hotel you can find shops and cafeterias. The room was very clean, and we ask for a non-smoking and in a quiet site of the hotel, and the room fills our requirements. The personnel very courteous. The price is very reasonable, for a three star hotel, but you can find special promotions in different sites in Internet. I strongly recommend this hotel.
