Location of the hotel was excellent, in the heart of the city and walkable distance to the restaurants, chairlift, etc. |

"Fantastic location"
We spent the new year at this lovely hotel. Maybe the rooms were rather tired and required a little updating - however they were spotlessly clean and had everything you required. The rooms were also pleasantly warm - while the outside temperature was extremely cold! The staff were very polite and friendly. The location of this hotel is just wonderful everything in Grenoble is close to hand good shops, bars and restaurants and exploring the Alps wonderfully close. We were fortunate enough to stay during a "special offer" 2 for 1 time which I had seen advertised on the Grenoble Tourist Office site. Although we had booked directly ith the Hotel, they did agree to us benefiting from this offer once I contacted them and said that I had seen the offer on the tourist office site. Therefore the cost was reasonable - I would not have been so happy if I had paid the full price! Therefore my biggest tip would be to check out the tourist office site as the hotel itself does not automatically give you the best rate !

"Great value with excellent service"
The Tulip Inn Hotel Angleterre in Grenoble is a great value with excellent service and location. It is next to the Old Town on the main tram line. There is a tram stop one block from the hotel at Victor Hugo, so it is an easy trip to and from the main train station, which is a 10 minute walk. There are numerous stores and restaurants within a three minute walk from the hotel – including a McDonalds, Monoprix and Galeries Layfayette. Service at the hotel is excellent and most of the front desk staff is fluent in English. You can also rent DVDs at the front desk and there is a DVD player in most of the rooms. The rooms on the front of the hotel open to Victor Hugo square - a fantastic view. I have stayed in the one four star in Grenoble and have found the three star Angleterre to be superior.

"Delightful D'angleterre"
An extraordinarily friendly, helpful staff, a great location, and one of the few European hotels in its price range we've stayed at that had air conditioning (very appreciated during a heatwave), make the Hotel D'angleterre an excellent choice for Grenoble accomodations. The rooms were immaculately clean and fairly spacious. We'd definitely stay there again.

"Great value in Grenoble"
We stayed at the Angelterre for 1 night. It's a great location, though difficult to find with all of the 1 way streets running through the city. We passed it on our first go around, but found our way back with a little patience. There is a loading zone in front so we unloaded our bags, checked in, and then went take our car to the parking garage which was a few blocks away. Free parking from 5pm to 10am.
The decor needed a little updating, but overall, it was clean and the staff was all very nice and helpful. We had a room on the 3rd floor and it was just a standard rate, but had a whirlpool tub. Rooms are on the small side, but have all of the amenities that make it comfortable.
It's in a great central location within walking distance of everything that Grenoble has to offer. We strolled around for hours just exploring.
I would stay away from the hotel breakfast as it is way overpriced and quite underwhelming. We had no choice as we were there on a Sunday and nothing is open on Sundays.
Over all a great value hotel. Very clean, nice staff, and great location.
