U Sv. Jana Hotel is a hotel of garni category and provides an unusual opportunity of romantic accommodation with mystic atmosphere in the building originally used as a vicarage of the Church of St.John o n the Rock.

The building was built by architect A.Wiehl in neobaroque style in 1902 and is situated below the church. The hotel is imbed ded in the old time garden within walking distance of the historical centre of Prague, close to the metro and tram staion.

The hotel was opened on the first of August 2003 after a sensitive reconstruction and offers accommodation in 14 rooms with a total capacity of 45 beds. Each room is equipped with ensuite bathroom, satelite TV.

PROPERTY AMENITIES

* There is a possibility of borrowing iron and ironing board,even an umbrella as well. The reception provides information about cultural events, city tours and sells tickets for such. The hotel has a parking possibility for three cars in the locked garden of the church or our guests can use garages situated 300 metres from the hotel.

* Each room is equipped with ensuite bathroom, satelite TV and direct-dial telephone. Free wi-fi internet in hotel rooms. The reception desk is open 24 hours and the guests can take advantage of hotel safe or fax machine and internet access.

"Great stay, Great staff"
Very clean (almost new), well located for walking or tram. Easy walk from Wenceslas Square. Very kind and knowledgeable staff: Shaka, Eva, and Theresa were perfect! They also had locked parking! A real find. Very quiet area.

"Clean, warm and comfortable"
Got a good deal through one of the Czech websites. February is not a popular time in Prague! The room was spacious and very clean. The sheets were good quality and spotless. The hotel has fitted two sets of windows to keep the noise down (trams). However, we slept with these open at night and it was fine. The water pressure is good, lots of hot water, but the shower head is one of those handheld types. It would have been nice to have a 'proper' shower but it didn't really matter. Breakfast is OK but nothing special. It was regularly restocked and things were fresh - ham, salami, cheese, etc. The Old Town is approximately fifteen minutes walk so although the location is not absolutely ideal, the hotel is situate in a 'safe' feeling area and is worth it in terms of trading price for convenience. We found a few local bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity which were fine. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We didn't ask for much assistance but you got the impression that it woud be available if you needed it. We wanted a inexpensive break in Prague and got one. The hotel is very good value for money and a nice place to stay. It is near enough to the Old Town and convenient for public transport if you don't want to walk the fifteen minutes. We would stay here again and probably will.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in April. We were very happy with this accomodation. It is eay to get to by bus and metro from the airport. The management was friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, spotless and quiet. The bathroom is also large with bathtub and handheld shower. The breakfast is buffet style - a large selection of things to eat. We were very impressed with this hotel - for the price, it is really great value.
