"Great Location!"
Standard hotel room, clean. I liked having a micro/refrig, and coffee maker in the room. Large TV, had HBO and ESPN. The best thing about this hotel is a better price than the others in the downtown area. The beach is about a two minute walk, and the downtown shops and restaurants are within about a five minute walk. We walked downtown and watched the St. Patrick's day Parade, stopped at the park, walked to the Peir and had lunch. It was a very enjoyable experiance. We didn't use our car at all. Later we walked back downtown to the 10 screen theater and stopped at Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks on our way back. The staff there was very helpful and friendly.

"good value, good location"
We stayed one night at the Vagabond in Ventura as part of a longer trip. We drove round Ventura looking for somewhere to stay in the evening, and this place looked nicer than the very dirty-looking Best Western next door! We didn't actually stay there so can't say what it's like once you get inside. The Vagabond was good value, the rooms were decent and clean and had a fridge and microwave, and we got an AAA rate with our UK AA affiliation. The location near downtown meant we could wander in to the main street with plenty of restaurants and bars - very pleasant. You get what you pay for and this was good value. It is a basic motel but we had no complaints and slept well. Unlike some other chain motels there is no internet access.
