Stayed here from the 17th of September for 7 nights. Beautiful place! Apartments are extremely large and spotlessly clean. Kitchen is well stocked out with pots/cutlery/crockery. Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The onsite shop is reasonably well stocked, although alittle pricey! Wouldn't bother with the breakfast, its continental and consists of plastic ham and cheese with toast/bread rolls. You can have a cooked breakfast but it will cost 8 euro 50. All in all, I would definitely recommend Vitor's Plaza. The pool bar serves wonderful burgers/salads but again, VERY expensive!!!...My friend ordered a Bacardi and it cost 4 euro 20!!!...best to bring your booze with you and drink it in your apartment. The location is alittle off the beaten track but you are a 15 minute walk to the local beach which is beautiful and the Complex run a courtesy bus there and back a couple of times a day. Portimao is quite pretty but very commercial so I would definitely recommend visiting Alvor as it is much nicer with its little narrow streets, quite quaint. A taxi in will cost you between 3.50 and 4 euro so its not too bad. If you do go, you MUST visit 2 restaurants; Sereia Restaurante and Restaurant Marisqueira. They are located down near the harbour. Their Piri Piri chicken is fabulous along with their fresh fish which is cooked to order. A main course there will cost around 8.50 euro but DEFINITELY worth it. Its good value for money!
