"Loved It!"
We just returned from a trip to Rome with our 3 children, ages 9, 12 and 14. The staff was great at the Hotel Waldorf. They were very helpful at all hours, even when we had to check out at 4:30 A.M. to make a 7:00 flight home. We had two rooms, a double and a triple. The rooms were clean and nice, although small by American standards, but we didn't care. We spent most of our time sightseeing anyway. The breakfast was great, with an enormous number of choices. Although it is not in the center of Rome, it worked well for us since we spent all our time out sightseeing until the evening. Actually, it was nice being in a real Roman nieghborhood, and we enjoyed meeting some of the people who were not in a "tourist area". The Waldorf is close to the Cornelia (line A) metro station, and also a nice cafeteria and restaurant that are both full of friendly local people. We had already arranged a tour to Florence and Naples/Pompeii, but they can help you with that too, if you don't already have plans. We'd stay there again.

"Really smart and convenient location"
Just a 5 minute walk from Cornelia Metro station, but when you arrive go with a good map, the road layout is rather confusing. The hotel has been recently redecorated and is very smart throughout. On arrival I was given the old Italian Hotel burst water pipe story so was moved to another hotel for the 1st night; same facilities but the other hotel was rather shabby. I didn't mind though as it was late and only went there to sleep, also I liked the receptionist. I spent the next 6 nights at the Waldorf, staff were always very helpful, a big choice of breakfast, room had a balcony. Room was very smart and clean. A very enjoyable stay. When you go check in earlier in the evening to avoid those troublesome Italian burst water pipes.

good value
satisfied with the room ,walls a bit thin.Nice clean hotel with good breakfast.easy to get to by bus or metro.Been to rome 4 times and for the money this has been the better hotel. Its just a bit far out ,but if you dont mind that its o.k.get a day transport ticket or 3 day as me and my wife did.11 euro each and you can get on all the transport within rome.We arrived at 9pm and found the directions hard to follow in the dark.We fell lucky when a local said follow me,and took us to the door.If you get to the bus station at cornillea ,the hotel is behind the agip petrol station.

Waldorf
This is a lovely hotel but please be aware that it is not in the trastevere area, as we found out quite expensively in a taxi. only give via alciate when you give the address. the taxi drivers will take you around the city looking for it. dont use via aurelia either as this is a very common address in rome. the hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very helpful. the metro is very close by and the bus service is excellent.the rooms are very clean but a little on the small side. the drinks at the bar and pricey, €9 for a vodka with mixer. i do recommend that if you are heading out for the day that you prepare to stay out for the evening as well as you are a fair bit outside the city.

Waldorf Hotel
My wife & I had five nights here in September 06 and had very few complaints. The price is good for Rome, the rooms are clean and modern and they are tidied every day. Cosmos were using it for their tour parties. The reception staff were very knowledgeable about the city and the transport and how much a taxi should cost. (Don't pay more than 60 Euros from the airport to here). The walls are a bit thin and the drinks at the bar a bit expensive but the breakfast buffet is very good and well stocked with a wide range of foods etc. You will need to use the Metro to get about because this hotel is in the suburbs but it's only one euro for each journey irrespective of distance. If you're arriving by Metro you might find the hotel hard to locate. Head for the bus station which is in the middle of the dual carriageway. Keep it on your left and look for a restaurant called Zio Frankies on your right (Tuborg umbrellas). Turn right, go past the small garage behind the restaurant and turn a very sharp left at the next junction. It's only 50 yards up there.

Not bad for the price
We stayed in the Waldorf in December 05. Me and two friends. Booked a room for 3 but really what we got was a room for 2 with a fold out bed. Really made the room cramped. It would have been fine if it was only for 2. There is no restaurant in the hotel and no real bar to speak of. Breakfast is ok. Not quite what we are used to but you wouldnt leave hungry. The girls would have murdered a proper cup of tea though!! Overall the place was clean and comfortable but expect what you pay for. There is no luxury. I would recommend it to those on a budget. One bit of advice though Dont believe the directions that are on the website. Get a taxi. We got lost because the area indicated is not the area it is in. Very close to the metro stop so everything is very accessible.
