"was a fine hotel and good stay."
Wellington Hotel was a nice place to stay. Not luxurious by any stretch, but worked fine for my business trip. The location was excellent and the price was good (for NY). The hotel is older so it doesn’t have elaborate offerings. All in all it was a fine hotel and good stay.

" central location and good value"
Wellington Hotel has a central location and good value. Excellent diner on the ground floor. Hiring a suite was particularly convenient for three adults. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Slightly faded and in need of re-decoration.

"Exceeded our expectations!"
Stayed at the Wellington for 2 days in the beggining of June, as the last stop on our honneymoon. Since we had to fly to Newark, we decided to stay in NY in a central hotel, and that was what we got. When we did our reservation, we mentioned that we were on honneymoon, and they gave us a good room on the 24th floor (the hotel has 27 floors) with 2 windows and a wonderful view of Times Square. All the rooms on that floor are non-smoking. Some rooms also have a good view of Central Park. We had a queensize bed which was very confortable, and the room wasn't as small as I expected from what I had read on this site. And even if it was, for us it wouldn't be a problem, since we already knew that most of our time we would be sightseeing, since we only had 2 days. The bathroom was normal and the water power in the shower was very good. The room had a kitchennet that we did not use (lavatory, microwave and small fridge). Also had AC, iron and iron table. If you want a safe, its free at the reception, but if you loose the key, you'll have to pay 100 US dollars. So DON'T LOOSE IT! We didn't need. We had 4 suitcases, and we didn't have any problems in terms of security in our room.
We were lucky in our check in and check out, because there were only 3 people in front of us, and 3 people working, so it was all pretty fast. But when big groups arrive....just sit down or leave your luggage kept, go out, enjoy yourself and then return for check in. I always saw lots of people in the lobby, I think its because the hotel is in a such good location. It also has a subway station right next to it, which was wonderful for us. Bought a 1 day unlimmited pass (7 US dolars), and went almost everywhere in Manhattan. Tipp: if you want to see the Statue of Liberty, take the ferry to Staten Island and see the statue for free! Everything is close to the Hotel. It was our 1st time in NY, we were afraid of not understanding the map, but it gets really easy after you get there. And the subway too!
If we return to NY, we will stay at the Wellington.
